'morning all,

Looking at what's out there to mount on the willies and these TNW re-works are quite intriguing.

I know that there are several 1919s around, as well as the MG34s, but does anyone know if any of the M2HBs made it across?

They did. But no more exports of 1919's and M2HB's are allowed due to US ITAR regs.

The only chance you have is to find one of the few used M2HB's in private hands to buy. Be prepared to pay over $10,000.

Personally, I love my TNW MG34. :)

I think that John from Marstar mentioned there were only 10 of the M2s brought in to Canada. I seem to recall there were only three showing in that online copy of the registry, so one has to wonder if the rest went back to the US.

There is nothing wrong with the M1919. Do a search on them, and you will see that I am not alone in this opinion. If you stick the butt stock and the long flash hider on it, it is as large and inpressive as a M2, and only a fraction of the cost to feed.

I agree about the M1919 and it was the first choice until I found out about the possibility of one of the M2HBs being here. The choice for the project will probably end up being a dewat M2HB and a TNW 1919 if one can be found.

There are several that I am working on along with a friend. There is a 1945 MB to kit out, a 1951 M38, and an Iltis. I figure the M2HB or the 1919a6 would be quite appropriate on the M38, and the 1919a4 would go onto the '45 MB.

Ideas?

Deactivation nullifies requirement to be registered. Look how many dewat's are for sale on here and other places.

The firearms referenced here are live, semi only, non-restricted re-builds which use as many original parts as possible, by TNW Firearms Inc.

The M38 would have had the pedestal mount in the back, which would have used either a HB or a 1919A4.

The same pedestal mounts were in the MBs.

While the Iltis overlapped with the C5A1 (1919A4 with Cdn conversion and improvements) there was not an official installation for the 1919 on them. There was eventually a mount for the MAG58 (C6) during the early Afghanistan years.

I have a M38A1 with the GPMG arm on the side. This was the same set up I learned to drive on many years back in the militia.

The 1919 fits the Jeep much better than the M2 as you can see from the pic's of mine
The 50 is too big for a Jeep hard to drive with a ammo box as a head rest

Right on. Thanks for all of the advice guys! I think you're right that the 1919 does look better than the 50... If anybody knows of any of either out there I'd appreciate a PM, other than that I'll put together a WTB.

If you want to look real bad ass like an Israeli M38 commando jeep or Mike Hoare merc on the way to liberate Stanleyville, it's M2 at the back and 1919A4 for the front passenger.

check out http://www.iracinc.us/ they're not real.... but they're friggin' cool! and they actually fire

hmm that's interesting... Wish there was a little more information about them on the site. Does anyone know what the legal status of those would be up here? Are they good to go or would they be classed as illegal "replicas"?

REALLY like the flag in the second photo.

Means a lot more to some of us than that Liberal-Party-red-only.

And here's a point: how did they even get away with it? We KNOW that the Libs don't give a counterfeit farthing about what the Canadian people want, but HOW did they get that mess of a flag through the College of Heralds? RED is a CLOTH colour and WHITE is a METAL colour. The flag-thingie has a red design on a white backgound.... and it is against the laws of heraldry to have a METAL carrying a CLOTH. Other way around is fine, but not the way they are doing it.

Oh well: the Communist Party of Canada approved it, so Pearson and the Liberals voted it in. The entire "flag debate" was a sham. I was working for CP Air at the time and we knew what the new flag was going to be even before it was introduced in Parliament. All we had to do was look across the tarmac and there it was, red stylised maple leaf on a white ground, 25 feet high, taking up the whole tail-end of Air Canada's DC-8s.

To some of us, that whole thing still rankles.

This might not be the place for it, but just remember: it was brought to you by the same people who brought you C-68 and a whole bunch of Orders-in-Council which have very nearly killed our hobby........ right after they promised they wouldn't do it. LIARS! We get one minute every 4 or 5 years to say what we think of them. There will be an election coming up in the next year or so. Make YOUR vote count.

Do it right and we might even be able, some day, to play with the fun toys again.

Don't take this personally Smellie, but can we not turn every thread into the same political rant? (not trying to single you out) Yes we all hate the liberal party for screwing us over, but it gets a little old when you have to re-read the same paraphrased rant from 5 different people in every thread. Can't we just talking about how awesome 30 and 50 cals are on jeeps?
