Hmmm, prior to getting all grown up requesting respect, you may want to work on your spelling and punctuation and throw in the occasional upper case letter at the start of a sentence.f:P:

It's just like the way one dresses, speaks or writes. People will get an impression of you by what you display.

Like it or not it's the fact.

In life in general you really only have the two choices; learn the rules and play them to your advantage, or cry and complain and get left in the dust.

I don't see why some people have such issues just using proper grammar or terminology. It makes a lot more sense to spend an extra 10 seconds on your post than come off sounding like an illiterate fool. I can tolerate a few spelling mistakes here and there, but when it comes to intentional misspelling, I give up reading that persons post. Its like trying to desypher hyroglyphs when some people type.

Did you mean "decipher hieroglyphs". :D

Well.. I hate the word "milsurp"

I use that word online, but it does sound strange, almost like "mil slurp", evoking the image of a mess hall on soup night.

For the OP, I don't care if someone calls a shotgun a "shottie", but I have to admit that I've never heard anyone call them that in real time, non-virtual world. I've only seen that term in discussion forums.

Please continue this thread...

:)

"shottie" - Does grind my gears. I have heard people use it... has a degrading feel to it. Please use the model number, or make, OR just call it a shotgun or even "scattergun" (but only if you must).

"Winnie" - Mildly irritating. I don't use it.

"politician" - Really wish they didn't have to plunk "right" and "honourable" anywhere near that.

Now for something that drives me farther around the bend than the chronic misuse of there, their, and they're...

SMS text speak - Use the Queen's English for crying out loud. Go ruin someone else's language.
