I have a Baby Eagle in 9mm.
The thing points well, groups small, balances perfect. I love the darn thing!
But..... When I shoot it the de-cocking lever tends to hit my thumb as the slide moves forward after shooting a round, de-cocking the pistol.
The first few times it did this I thought I had a squib or a dud round and immediatly stopped firing, did a clearing drill and tore the pistol apart to clear a squib.....
Annoying to say the least, not to mention adding a bunch of time to my scores when shooting for points......
I thought about this for a bit, finally I realized I had to either sell the pistol, or simply remove the de-cocking lever.
I opted to remove the lever.....
The pistol works just fine but now it has no safety and it has a big gaping hole in the slide making it kind ugly looking. Now I don't/can't use it for anything but 'plinking' at the range as I can no longer use it for any kind of formal or informal matches as it has no safety. This doesn't REALLY bother me, but it is a consideration.
I don't want to get rid of it, so now I don't know what to do to make it pretty again.... Fill the holes and get it refinished, or just remove the lever from the LH side of the slide (grind down the paddle) and re-instal the de-cocker......
Ideas?
Cheers!
