If you do one spin with a hard upward jerk on the downward spin and you'll feel the break. No need to make it look like a propeller. One spin and it's usually pretty clean and quick.

Tried it once, never again. I use the one quick spin, have finished literally hundreds of games birds this way.

(in case you are truly confused- the red stick in the picture is the birds spinal column that is separated from the head)

I was laughing hard at the pic, this put me over the top.

Now for the really arcane, pluck a primary flight feather from the wingtip and then bend the bill down so that it contacts the throat. Take primary feather tip and jab it into the space between the base of the skull and the first vertebrae. Lever up into skull and stir.

Works a treat but is way more complicated than bashing their heads on the gunstock.
