Help Requested - jammed CZH 2003

ive been having some "cleaning issues with my vz58l too.
1 in 50 is a ripped of case rim, FTE.
Italian sporting goods quoted me 35 bucks to polish the chamber, then charged me 80, and it still does it.... their excuse was that there was some pitting in the chamber.

i wonder if it has headspace issues too?

anyone have a go, no go gauge for 7.62x39???

I was at range yesterday and watched as this issue happened to a fellow for his first time, same issues . I pointed him in this direction (not that it will fix the issue) but thisis obviously a issue

Just waiting until I can bring it into a gunsmith to get it checked . The retailer asked me to get it checked, before sending it back east and if it is a headspace issue they will refund me 100%.

Any recommendations as to who to take it to in the Vancouver area?

Thanks

There is another smith his name is Barry, can't remember the business name...

It turned out to be a defective chamber.

Joe at Dlask arms, set the head spacing correctly, but it still did the same thing. Apparently, the chamber was damaged when the barrel was attached to the receiver. Apparently quite common with the CZH2003 / 58Ls.

Marstar cheerfully accepted the exchange.

Thanks to all who helped.

I wish more people returned their rifle to the wholesaler when a problem like this was found, rather than ditch them on the EE. You are lucky you bought it retail...

I have the identical problem with my CZH2003 but got it second hand on EE. (It is also the reason I will never buy a firearm on EE ever again lol).

a defect like this would it make any difference if you bot it second hand or from a retailer . have you tried to return it to the wholesaler?

When it was first diagnosed as a head space problem in January I did call marstar looking for replacement barrels but they didn't have any. The fellow I spoke to was very helpful with regards to info on the headspace problem, but at the time we believed it was simply a case of the wrong numbered locking lugs (or whatever they are called that adjust the headspace).

I hadn't called them back after the gunsmith declared the chamber a lost cause. I didn't think there would be anything they could do at that point (The rifle is probably several years old and the warranty expired long ago).

if a gunsmith declared the chamber as "a lost cause" then this is the way it was right from the start, then you should talk to the wholesaler , even when several years has passed.

i may have to do the same, i bought mine from marstar as well when they first come out.
I would have contacted them along time ago, but very one i talked to pretty much blamed me the operator , or my ammo.
Ill have to contact John and see if something can be done for me.

was your checked out by a gunsmith ?

i had a fellow back in bc look at it........ib be skeptical to call him a gunsmith tho...
ill see what John has to say he may have a preferred smitty he wants to look at it

So is this kind of like when a safety recall is issued for a certain brand of car, where the factory fixes it even if the car is off warranty and it is with a new owner? if the rifle was bad from the start and is unsafe to fire, the rifle should go back to the wholesaler?

I do have it in writing that this rifle was bad from factory so I guess I have a case... I'll call Marstar on Monday and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.

Any word?

Sadly no... I had originally sent an email to marstar and then followed up with a phone call.

The fellow I spoke to this time didn't think CZH2003 rifles came from marstar.
Well i bloody well know mine did , i also recieved no reply from my pm to john....probally to busy .

I shoulda just sent it back instead of listneing to all the bulls**t about the laquer and dirty chambers .....bottom line if a gun takes that much work to get firing it aint worth s**t.....i would had better luk converting the money i spent to pennies and shooting them with a slingshot:mad:
Edit...
Let me just say im not laying blame in any direction, stuff happens i just would have prefred it work :)

You'd be better off phoning marstar then PMing him.

Ill get all my ducks in a row and give Marstar a call .
Id be curios to do a sereial number comparison with any body else who has had this issue thru PM .
