Wait a second. I'm in the GVRD and didn't see my name. I'm interested if it involves .22 pistol. Why did I sell my Mark II?

I'm still in for semi rifle.

Lower mainland and Okanagan guys, look at the tacrifle website in my sig line, I believe there is some Action22 info there (probably more in this thread though).

There have been events in the lower mainland for the past 3 years but I have not scheduled any yet this year, perhaps November we'll stage some. We only run rifle events down here.

Join the tacrifle site and you can elect to recieve email updates to notify you of upcoming events.

Here is the potential participant list, now up to date. If you want your name added, please post in this thread and give your location.

After the 1990s confiscation of handguns in the UK the IPSC shooters there started doing what they call minirifle - basically IPSC with .22 rifles. We did a few matches at EOHC about 8 years ago and folks (most of whom hadn't tried action shooting before) had fun with with it. It is good to have a shot timer with adjustable sensitivity as we found that the yellow timers sometimes wouldn't pick up the shots.

A lot of the links on the EOHC site are dead, so here are links to the UK club documents from the that got it started:

hi

been working on this for a while now building targets and such for a course of aprox 150 round count purfect score. [ain't gonna happen],

lookin' for suggestions to:

squeeze it inside a 40x50 yard range
max angle allowed off square from benches for target shooting
suggested scoring ( every one needs incentive to get better)
info on legality of 2 gun ( rifle & pistol) conduct rules
event inside event.... 10 shots on paper with point rings
limit ammo ?
time limit, or timed

targets so far

golf ball dispenser
over center double tap 1/2" steel
various spinners steel
various gopher crow steel cutouts
8 shot tree
texas star (motor ?) 4" targets
lots of 2" 3" 4" round plates

We generally stick with steel only, with paper targets only on occasion and usually limited to bobbers or movers. Steel is easy to score and is not affected by rain ( quite common in the Lower Rainland) and oh so easy to reset.

Our stages are time limited rather than scored on the amount of time passed. This avoids any timer inconsistency in picking of the sound of the last shot. A beep at 30 seconds (or 20 sec or 40 sec, etc) tells you to stop shooting. Score is the number of targets knocked down within the time limit.

I hope that helps ... :)
