Time to Delete! Thanks

thats dumb they got rid of the flash hiders. arnt there other non restricted guns with flash hiders? i thought it would be fun to play around with it. also will you be able to put those cool picatiny rail system that goes over the barrel on it i wonder.

I know the states has a hard on for flash hiders and bayo lugs, so the two probably are on a no export list. it would make sense since they're both probably considered military only, so no go because of that.

Whatever - Keltec has bent over backwards to get these guns into canada, and so has vault. I'm happy as long as it gets here (And I bet they will be too :p)

Still waiting on pricing and distributors...

Ever heard of threading the barrel and adding your own flash hider.

Whats the big bloody deal with flash hiders anyway?
One of my fondest shooting moments was blasting some Chinese ammo that obviously did not have any of the chemicals added to minimize flash.
I was shooting it through a Mini14 at dusk, and it had a ball of flame the size of a basketball hanging from the muzzle!

BTW, cheers to Vault and KelTec for pulling this off! Your persistence is noted.

yes, this has been discussed as nosium in the sub 2000 thread. there are other costs of export permits bla bla bla and vault and the distributors need to make some cash off of it, the first batch will likely carry with them alot of baggage cost, but who cares. im just glad there are people (such as kel-tec and vault) working so hard to bring things like the rifles kel-tec provides to the Canadian market! kudos!

I think 2500 is high, 1880 is msrp, and as keltec employees state on youtube 'of course they'll be listed for cheaper through dealers'
So I expect something more in line with the msrp

With all the export and import loops that have to be jumped through, I don't think the MSRP is a possible retail price, if vault is lucky, that might be their purchase price bu they need to make some profit so I can see around 2200-2500.

BUT price speculation is not a good thing, if everyone thinks its gonna cost ###X amount and it cost a little more people are not gonna be happy.

Dealers do not pay MSRP EVER! Dealer price is around $1200us and I`m sure the more you buy that price goes down.

These things are $1600us shipped in the states and you can find them for alot less than that , Ableammo has it for $1350us

Correct, dealers don't pay MSRP. They DO pay for the product, plus whatever the manufacturer has to do to the product to make it legal to sell, plus whatever government red-tape they have to unravel to get the product.

Kel-Tec isn't going to send those RFB's back into the shop for grinding off caliber markings or re-reaming chambers for free. They'll charge, Vault will pay them, the dealers will pay Vault, and YOU will pay the dealers. None of the links in this chain will stay in the chain unless they make a profit...as offensive as that may seem to many folks on this forum.

Will this raise Vault's per-unit-cost up to the level of the MSRP in the states? I don't know, and I'm pretty sure that nobody else here knows either...SO RELAX! Have a Kit Kat. Don't worry about something that you can't control, especially when it hasn't happened yet and probably won't.

Relax yourself, I wouldnt buy this turd machine for dealer price in pesos.

Kel Tec will make these from scratch NOT dissasemble their turds and then reassemble the new turd with new barrel stamped .308

Kel Tec manufactures cheaply made guns and competes against other manufaturers of cheaply made guns, this turd will rattle itself appart and blow up in your face. :)

I'm not saying you're wrong...the few Kel-Tecs that I've seen up close in the states all screamed "cheap POS" to me...but I'll keep an open mind and hope to be proven wrong when the RFB arrives.

Someplace back in the bowels of this too-long thread, or the other Kel-Tec thread, it was stated that the guns had already been put back into the manufacturing process to grind off numbers, etc.

Will this result in work-hardening of the turd material?

OZZ, any good reason for calling these rifles turds? Are you advising against buying it? I'd like to hear your take on that.

Kel Tec has been moving away from "cheap-o" guns with the newer ones...

its the same crap people said about things like the G-36... "Ohh its garbage plastic cheap rifle"... except that that "cheap" rifle beats most of the other comparable rifles in life span, accuracy and reliability... and not to mention weight. Or the "melting rifle thing"... The G36 gets a droopy barrel a few hundred rounds after an M-4's bolt seizes in its receiver and becomes completely unserviceable.

Time will tell what the quality of the RFB is like, not accusations and speculation.
