There is a great road that goes between Timeau (northeast of Fort Assinaboine) and Slave Lake. Everyone calls it the powerline road because you basically follow this powerline the whole way up. There is not alot of frost out there right now, so I am not sure If you can make it all the way through with a 3/4 ton 4x4. If you have quads, your laughing, however you can just park at the first ugly spot in the road and you are already in prime monster buck country. In the last ten years there have been some beautiful non typical whitetails taken scoring over 200". There is a great gene pool up there, and you have a good chance at scoring a muley as well. If you want wolves then Grande Prairie, Manning and Peace River have a real wolf problem right now. They go in cycles with the elk and caribou.
