This is not the I love Vault forum, its the Black and Green Rifles forum and the one and only one thing that totally pissed me off about Vault was his bulls**t about doing this for the firearms community. BULLs**t!!

Yeah we get it but this seems pretty negative. No one is under the impression that Vault does not want to make a profit. However, to actually go to the trouble that they have to get the barrel length and the markings so that it comes up here non-restricted does show commitment to the Canadian firearms community.

Its unfortunate that you got "pissed off" but maybe that has more to do with your personality than fact. In any event your comments are inappropriate.

In my opinion Vault is doing a great job. Any time we can get a black rifle up here, through the DOS, have an FRT issued, in .308 no less and actually be able to buy one you have to appreciate it instead of following a "no good deed goes unpunished" view like yours.

I was very skeptical about Vault at the beginning. From the lofty claims (including that export permits were already done) to the cheesy 1990's web page. I figured it was probably another fly by night thing that wouldn't happen. Others have tried to get the RFB in and and weren't able to. Which didn't surprise me. So when it looks like we're going to get them in I have absolutely no complaints.

At $2400 Canadian it's about $100 less than I was expecting. Yes it's a bit more than originally thought/hoped, but it's still reasonable considering the new barrel, new markings, Chambering to .308 and all the other crud they had to go through. I was worried that the price was going to pull an ACR but that doesn't seem to be the case.

As for the he's doing it to make money claims. Good. I hope he makes buckets of cash. If you put up the capital, take huge risks then you truly deserve the reward if things work out how you expected. No one else is going to be there to help you if you're wrong. I wish nothing but the best of luck to anyone willing to take an educated risk.

I look forward to shooting a RFB.
 
The sub 2000 isn't bad either. It would be about the same that I paid for my Rossi Puma M92 .357 carbine, and I would have the advantage of using glock mags, which are both easy to source and quite inexpensive...

I would like to make a correction to this statement.(I'm not #####ing) The only price given for FAL mags, the $55 mentioned above, was for USED mags. NOT NEW...and Quality unknown.

I don't think you guys would like the RFB. But I've been wrong before. I've handled one and have been around people shooting one. It's very reliable but accuracy was definitely to be desired. Who knows what you guys will get by that time. Right now it's hard to even get one in the US. Cheers fellow Nutz
 
Accuracy with match 168 ammo looked to be decent. I see a lot of people put surplus ammo, hunting ammo or the cheapest crap they can find through a rifle. You won't get good accuracy with anything other than high grade ammo.

I hope they're fairly accurate and am looking forward to finding out. Not expecting a precision rifle though. Those expectations will be for the next models.

They're going to be hard to get here too. It looks like not many will go to each retailer. I doubt I'll be able to get one of the first batch and I'm fairly close to the front of the line.

.5" longer is not much, the american rfb has an 18" barrell ours will be 18.5"
