but "fake" silencers are legal right? (they look like the real thing but dont do anything....)

As long as they dont change the db (decibel) output of the gun at all. I remember something about the Brugger and Thomet 9mm subgun and the fake can it had, that it had to be made solid (as-in un-shootable) because it lowered the sound a few DB.

For example, I have an MFI fake can for my Mark23 handgun and it doesn't change the sound at all... as far as I know though, they aren't exported to Canada anymore.

A fake can that covers a barrel (as-in a barrel shroud :p) is completely okay.

Cheeky Bugger. It takes a really really sadistic person to dangle those combination barrel weight/flash hiding/muzzle extenders in front of people who cannot have them just because some effin idiot behind a desk thinks they turn people into a criminal skulking version of James Bond.

Forget the fact that using one effectively requires subsonic rounds, reduced loads, and lest we forget, concealement becomes a non issue.

I'd really like ot know their failed logic in making a noise moderator a prohibited device.

Seriously. If they set a dB limit threshold that you could tune to, and not go below, that would certainly make some guns a lot more fun than others.

Fenix.NZ,

don't you feel bad killing all those babies, seals, bald eagles and robbing banks with the hollywood quiet, high powered, precision , high capacity sniper rifles?

thank god they are illegal here!!
