As of 23:30 Pacific time, item is in Ottawa. Son's birthday is dec 1st, expected delivery is Dec 4th. If order dude had sent it out Friday it might have made it.................

Did you read the timeline John publicly posted for all to see?

The transfer wasn't approved by the CFO until the end of business day Monday. The best he could have done is ship it Tuesday but they didn't get around to it until Wednesday.

But Friday?

I tried to order one of those Chicom M14's from Marstar. I emailed, got no response, I called, got blown off, and called again and got blown off again. At that point I gave up, all I wanted to do was buy from him and all I got was shabby treatment. I was told that I was being unreasonable because he had no record of the order, and I darn near blew my friggin top when I said THAT is exactly the problem, and who do I have to blow or kill to get an order in? As you can imagine, things went downhill from there and I haven't dealt with him since. These threads about Marstar come up like clockwork too. I think our mods or site owners should really consider showing some integrity where Marstar is concerned, but that is just my opinion.

The other dealers may charge a few bucks more, and I am happy to pay. There is alot to be said for customer service when you need it, and there is no reason a straightforward deal for a garden variety M14 or a couple of SKS's should be an ordeal.

I recommend Wolverine, Questar and P&D unreservedly. You place an order, and if they have it in stock it is on the way that day. If you have any problems, they will talk you through them and I have no doubt they will make every effort to make it right.

Hi Mausermike, not knocking Johnone, just the opposite, without him I would still be in the dark. I know he hustled things through and I'm very thankful to him and told him that in a private message. He unfortunately takes the brunt. I did spend the few cents long distance prior to John and got order dude's standard line, its in the mail. It wouldn't take a 10 to 205 increase to set up a good tracking system and merchandise software is everywhere. I thank John but I feel bad he has to keep putting fires out. I would certainly do business with Marstar again now that I know the way things work but I doubt they would ever take on order from me so next time I will have to go somewhere else for sure.
 
Marstar has a 1-800 number!

Personally I'd rather just spend a few cents of long distance than to see every Marstar price go up 10-20% so they can have a fancy state of the art e-commerce website.

I do sometimes feel that there is a big black hole that e-mail messages disappear through though. I might just phone in my next order...
 
Might as well add my 2 cents. I emailed my order on Tuesday morning and within 2-3 hours I had a reply that my order was received ... easy peasey.

However, in the past I did notice some of my emails didn't get through and those all seemed to be my reply's back to John so I figured the spam filter rules were picking these up as junk mail. Whenever I create and send a new email (not a reply) it always seems to go through fine.

Lets Just to review the facts, again

You placed your order on November 16th by phone....
Your order was picked, inspected and packed Nov 17th
Paperwork etc was sent to invoicing for processing on Nov 18th
The CFC transfer request was filed the same day (Nov 18th)The CFC issued the transfers for the two rifles on November 22nd at then end of our work day Today (Nov 24th) The invoice (#1N41###) was generated at 09:33 hrs
Your credit card was debited at 09:37hrs
The waybill was issued by Canada Post Your parcel went out today, your tracking #1008 #########x


The longest delay in the entire order process was the CFC/CFO, what can we do ????

I think I have been patient to the ultimate level, I have tried to explain in the greatest of detail, I have made every effort to walk you through the entire process, I am at a loss to figure out how to communicate the details to you....

It is quite clear that you do NOT understand that we CANNOT ship a firearm before we have the CFC/CFO approval....

I fully understand your frustration about wanting this shipment for your son's birthday, but surely you knew the birthday was coming, why did you not allow extra time....??

I tell you what, rather than frustrate you further and cause you to post more rants here, cause me frustartion because I no longer know how to explain things to you, why don't you simply refuse the parcel when it arrives, we will issue a full credit, including shipping, to your card upon their return.

Someone suggested you might have to increase your prices 10 to 20% to install a good order tracking system. Anyway..............You still dont get it!!!!! I'm complaining because your order dude is a liar. he told me it shipped Friday, it didn't, he's is a liar, period, end of story. It didn't ship until yesterday..Got it? Stop defending him and fix it, fire him, talk to him, whatever. Tell him to take enquiries from people who are buying stuff and paying his wages seriously and not a distraction. Your position is indefenseable, he lied. AGAIN and for the last time [I hope} I am not questioning the timeline. I'm telling you your staff screwed up, either on purpose or accidentally. This forum is riddled with threads about your company. I have no idea who you are, whether you own the company or are their talking head. You better look at the company you represent and get it fixed. You profit in a big way from your sponsorship of this forum, I admire you getting in the line of fire like you do but nothing happens man, next week someone else will have a problem. Anyway, I'm done, I'm tired, dont worry, you wont have to deal with me again. I really cant imagine why I would want to do business with you or why you would want me as a customer so lets just agree to disagree. Ahhh.... John, I feel your pain. No good deed goes unpunished. Thank god that I'm now retired, and no longer have to deal with the mouth breathing public anymore......

I got on a waiting list for the norincos and recieved a registration cert for my rifle and I hadnt even given them a credit card I was just on the list as I sent in my order and made special arrangements with John. I cancelled the order as well as not completing the transfer but I figured it was just a oversite
 
johnone, you seem to be able to dissect emails but you cant read them. My only issie is that your order dude is a liar. It wasn't shipped because the transfer was not done. He knew that, he didn't tell me, he just lied. nuff said, I'm done buddy. :HR:

Everybody lied to you, it is a company wide conspiracy....
As a result, I will fire evrybody involved, and advise the new staff that ALL shipments approved or not by the CFC are to be shipped two days BEFORE the client even places order....
Now that should speed up matters....
BTW I am not the "talking head" I own the company and was handed the file because you were not satisfied, I sincerely apologize for interfering and trying to explain matters to you

Again, read my lips......Order dude should have said..."The shipment is awaiting CFC approval, as soon as we get that it will be shipped. It could be a day or a month, we have no control over them" THATS what he should have said but he didn't, he said. "Your order will be shipped today" He is a liar, end of story............Back to you buddy. Oh, I re read your email, you are the owner???? Wow.....:bsFlag:
 
I would just let it go John....I have never dealt with you, but I would not hesitate to do so, if the need arose. I am a small business owner myself, and there are some clients that it is well worth your/our while to walk away from.....I don't know why some people feel the need to air their laundry publicly, but unfortunately, some people just crave the attention.

To the OP.....maybe you should have planned ahead a little farther to ensure that the gifts you wanted to give were there on time, instead of relying on a public bureaucracy, and a corporate structure and take some of the blame yourself....just saying is all!
 
This is Guns, the CFC and internet shopping. I have resolved to always wait 10 working days before I start to worry about and order. If it comes sooner, bonus! If it takes longer, I start to get concerned.
 
Hey 7.62, you got any SKS's? John knows I wanted to get off here and do this privately, he came back, bring it on. His order dude is a liar, period. There really is nothing left to say, maybe the mod can close this because I'm gonna keep replying to all johnboys highlighted text, guess that makes him right. dont you love small business? ;);)
 
Update..............Today the order came, 2 pristine looking SKS's. 2 weeks from order to delivery. I'm sure John's intervention hustled them along. They were well packed, as I said look to be pristine through the cosmoline. As in the start of this thread, never questioned the product or the company, just the post order brush off from order dude. There needs to be a transparent tracking system from the time of order and not just a line from someone who didn't know the status of the order. Hats off to Marstar but NOT to order dude. I think next time I buy firearms it will be local and dealer to me, not a guy on an order desk, that was my mistake. :cheers:
