Home Defense W/ Restricted

When someone breaks into or enters my home illegaly and possibly armed. Should I be required to first ask if his intentions are honorable? That is sheer insanity. He is there to steal, rape,or harm my family or myself in some way.If he has no fear of his life by placing himself in a potentially lethal situation, yes, then I am even more in fear of my life and those of others.Violent or deadly force is without question warranted. This is not the time for diplomacy or consideration of questionable laws.

shoot first ask questions later someone comes in my house there gettin smoked

You have got to be f*ckin kidding me! Smoked!? Who are you, ice cube?

I can picture it now, you coming out of the gun room yelling "I'm gonna smoke you fool!" holding your gat sideways.

Apparently these two don't qualify for use of deadly force like a gun!

If he is raping you, or your daughter while yelling "I am not going to kill you or cause you grievous bodily harm", you are not allowed to do anything but rape him back from what I read!

Gotta love Canada!

The grammar is far too correct for such a scenario (even if there is a comma missing). :p

It should probably read, "Ima smoke you foo!" Yet, even that would be too much. In this day and age, he would probably text, tweet or Facebook message the intruder.

Why even bother with a restricted? Safes take time to open.

Personally, I'd be picking up the cat and threatening to throw her at the intruder.

Trust me, the cat's a lethal weapon - she near 'nutted me last time I accidentally stepped on her.

:D

OF course, I'd then have the SPCA show up at my door and lead me off in cuffs...

Theres a good chance that if other gun owners are bothered by statements like this then the general public would be horrified. As gun owners we're under a microscope and held to a higher standard than everyone else.

Don't expect any help from other gun owners when you're in court fighting charges and they bring up the fact that you said you were going to "smoke" a home intruder on a public forum.

Those rules would not apply in my home. He would definitely be penetrated but not in a ###ual way.As I said previously, this is not the time for diplomacy or consideration of questionable laws.

Not sure he it has been cited yet, but a precedent was set by a jewellery store owner in bc not more than a few years ago. Shot and killed an armed intruder in the store using a restricted weapon. If you need more details google it.

Does this means you could use a gun if you believed you wouldn't survive the situation without it?????

Yes and this has been upheld in the courts. But they will still go after you for firearms related charges.
This is when we need to fight. How can they say you were justified in using lethal force but you should not have had access to that option?

The antis can't say anything here as this thread deals with the most basic human condition of self preservation. Pro firearm or anti, when it comes to protecting our life or the life of our loved ones ,chances are that in that moment we will all be capable of the unthinkable regardless of the means available to us...

He didn't kill the robber. The robber will live the rest of his life in a wheelchair. His handgun was registered to that location and stored properly in a vault.
No charges were laid.

It's important to note that the RCMP wanted to press charges but they were dismissed

You have any idea how rare it is for someone to get away with that without any charges? He got lucky.
