Hogue Extreme aluminum grips

Does anyone have experience with these grips?

I notice the lack of checkering at the top portion of the grip for SIGs, not sure if that would cause a loss of grip or not vs the factory plastic ones which are rough in the same spot.

I've read these are much thinner than the factory grips too, and judging from the picture I can definitely see how much flatter they lay vs factory plastic ones.

Any opinions/reviews or pictures would be great - tia

I had a set when I had a 226. I really liked them. The best deals can be had on the sigforum's ee. The 226 is so fat it is nice to have the slim grips.
 
No, and the checkering is quite aggressive, you will not find them to be difficult to hold onto. I found it to be a big improvement over the factory grips.
 
Did you get the matte finish or brushed gloss? I thinl the above poc is matte but just want to double check before ordering - pretty much want it to look like the factory finish
 
not worried about winter shooting, I can always put my stock plastic grips back on because they do fit my hands well - but if I can get something nicer for the warmer weather it would be a nice mod. Still wish I could get the factory dark elite aluminum grips for my P226 - if anyone reads this and wants to sell their grips, pm me I will pay $$$ so you can swap them out for something of your own preference

Here's a pic of my 226 with the Hogue Extreme Aluminum grips. I find that they offer more grip than the factory grips and they are also a bit thinner. I decided to go with these as I was experiencing grip flex with the stock grips and these have completely eliminated any flex. I would highly recommend them.
 
I have the SIG Aluminum grips on my P-226 which I like. The area just under the controls is checkered but I don't think that's of benefit. I modified the plastic grips that came with my X-Five and sanded that area smooth and relieved the mag control approach too. I found the smoothed path at the top of the modified grip actually helped me to get my thumb into a strong position more easily.

They were ok, but like anything aluminum you can't get a durable finish on them. After a few months of usage you'll get little white spots all over it were the anodizing comes off on the sharp edges.

Stick with g10/plastic.
 
My grips arrived today, they fit perfectly and slim down the grip a lot - it's surprising how much better of a grip I have with them on. My support hand just hugs the frame and I noticed while dry firing that my sights are not moving as much.

The only thing is that they feel like grabbing sandpaper - it's too rough for my liking right now but with some use it will wear down I'm sure and feel just right.

Well worth the money, 8 business days for them to be delivered to me from Hogue directly

+1. I can't think of a single reason I would trade my g10s for aluminum.

Biggest issue I came up with is scratching or wearing throught the anodizing. If g10 gets a scratch, it's the same colour right the way through. I have no idea who thought soft, coated metal would make a good material, I just can't think of many less appropriate materials for grips.
