Glock 17 Gen4

The new texture is great. I preferred the RTF-2 over the original, and to me, the Gen4 is as good or better than that for maintaining a secure grip even when sweaty.

My Glock 17 Gen 4 pistols have been flawless, the first one I picked up has digested over 16,000rds of factory 9mm, over 5000rds of that was Winchester 124gr NATO Ball, it has feed everything from 88gr GECO BAT to 158gr IMI Blue tip subsonic, as with all my Glock's a factory 3 1/2lbs connector is married to a NY1, like wicked police I have found the pistol most comfortable without the additional back strap installed, my sight choice are Trijicon night sights and my favourite holster is from Raven Concealment set up with the MD cut on a 1 1/2 Wilderness CSM belt.

Just got a set of Warren Tactical sights to try. As soon as I find a rear sight tool to borrow, I'll put them on the new gun and see how they are.

I put another few hundred through the new one running some drills this week. I think once I get rid of the sh|t factory adjustable sights and put on the Warren's, it'll work a little better.

The one major issue with GLOCKS' standard sights is that they are garbage. I am interested to hear your thoughts on any sort of upgrade. G17 gen4 is my next purchase even though I am not a 9mm fan.

I took the armorers course earlier this year, and the only upgrades I like are the (-) connector and different sights. Anything else tries to make the gun into something it isn't and wasn't designed to be. That is of course, just my opinion.

With the Gen3 guns, I also did the Vickers mag release. But with the Gen4, the size and shape of the mag release works really well for me, and I can't see changing it, even if there was something available at this point.

I have DeFoor sights on my first Gen4 and they're great. I was going to get another set, but heard really good things about the design of the Warrens from some very knowledgeable people, so figured I'd try them out.

Ive got a new G21 SF that's gonna need a sight upgrade as well, but I think I'm gonna go back to Ameriglo and try the Hack sights on it.

I should clarify.... Depending on the intended use, the factory plastic sights can be more than adequate and serviceable.

For operational use, or competition, I prefer to change the sights.

But if I was a weekend paper puncher that was just shooting for fun, I'd use my money to buy ammo before spending money on sights.

I love the look of glocks but I don't want to spend more money so stop posting pics !

True, though my guns see a lot of use which is why my opinion is so negative. Of 3 guns I have owned with factory sights all have had the front post go missing after a few thousand rounds. Combination of use and wear from being drawn from a holster I guess.
