When I shoot a bear I leave the whole body in the bush and only take the hide and the skull. I guess I need to feel like a big man and so do a large percentage of Alberta bear hunters.

We are not required to keep bear meat in Alberta and it is completely legal to just skin it and walk away. To me that is common sense...

Noneck never mentioned taking the hide. He just said bears are left in the bush for buzzards.
 
Dude..I take the fur and the skull.. I guided for years..never once ate one..trapped from the time I can't even remember...I need no life lessons..

I absolutely love black bear - at least the couple I have been fortunate enough to harvest.

I had Grizzly Bear at a Fish and Game supper a few years ago. It was prepared like corned beef. Even after a few beers when I swallowed it - it wanted to play this yo-yo game in my throat and it took a significant amount of fortitude to choke down.

Although you could eat it to survive, I would try to eat pretty much anything including my boots before it came to that....

oh man...you honestly believe that yotes are carnivores? that right there proves that you don't have a clue what you are talking about. google "omnivore" or "coyote+omnivore" and do a bit of reading to understand what an omnivore is.

then, maybe, we will start taking you seriously.
