RCBS Chargemaster Dispenser & Scale

If CBSA get their hands on it. The $5 handling charge and GST/HST/PST (whichever is applicable in your case) will kick in.
The same GST/HST/PST that will be applied to Chargemasters bought in Canada. At least he'll only be paying on +/-$300 not +/-$450 if bought in Canada. The bigger fear is the CDN RCBS wholesaler will force RCBS to only honour CDN warranty claims on machines sold via the wholesaler, ala Korth...

I can't image reloading without a Chargemaster!

My bold, I have bought RCBS direct and from dealers all over the world, the warranty work tends to get done directly with RCBS that way you are dealing with those who care. I sell RCBS products including the chargemaster combos over here in the UK, or rather when the importer has any left.
The quickest way is to e mail their techs, cuts out the middleman and means you get the service RCBS want to give you not the one the dealer can find time to give you.
That said I've not had a scales go wrong yet, a fair few dies damaged by users and replaced FOc!

Sound advice!

Fear not I bought mine from the states a few years back , I sent it to RCBS after the warrinty was up for a caliberation problem and they sent me a new one out no questions asked .

Bought dies here and other gear, emailed US techs, replacement pins, bushings, pilots... in the mail within days - no hesitation buying RCBS products. If I had to choose between sliced bread and the ChargeMaster, well, guess no bread then.

Same here, and so far it's never missed a beat. In the very few minor problems I've ever had with RCBS equipment, their customer service delt with the issues immediately and without question. Also their tech services have been helpful above and beyond the call when I was looking for the required pieces and info for forming 219 Donaldson Wasp cases.

I did keep my old Lyman beam scale and powder measure, just to periodically check the ChargeMaster Combo and the old powder measure for multiple handgun cartridge case charges. It's a little quicker and more convenient.

The overall experience with RCBS and their equipment was a good part of the reason I decided to pick up their AmmoMaster Chronograph at Misty River Sports in Terrace on a recent trip there. Customer service and satisfaction second to none.

I charge about five cases then start charging and bullet seating. It takes about the same time, so I do two things in the same time slot. Something to do while waiting for the powder.

I am typically weighing a power charge in the 45 to 50 grain range, so i keep a 223 bullet on the unit and weigh it from time to time, just to make sure nothing funny has happened.

It's worth having a check weight set or something else(like a bullet) to check your charges once in a while.I do,and the unit has functioned accurately for over 2 years......except for the drain plug! :D Mur

. . . .
I know a lot of guys that use one, an uncomfortable number have had to send their's in for repairs.

*This is the cue for everyone whose didn't break to chime in and say "Mine didn't break".

The first one I had was a Lyman. Right out of the box it did not work well. Got the Chargemaster I should have gotten in the first place. There may be problems with the RCBS model for some (mine is doing very well- knock on wood) but I think they have the least amount of problems and their warranty is great.

I'll get to try out their customer service soon. Mine freezes up, won't run through the whole calibration sequence, sometimes fails to register the number I punch and the "Made in China" sticker taunts me. Still works, (If you call that working) and I check the scale with check weights so I'm kinda- sorta in the game. This spooks me though, it's not the old RCBS warranty we all know and love.

This might be a dumb question but wont the duties just about eat up all those savings. i haven't ordered that much from states so im not sure but one thing i did order was valued at 300 and duties hit me for 107 so i have been sort of afraid to order from the states since. please clarify for me if you can sorry to be off topic.

For Ripitup

In my experience there no duties on hardly anything anymore. Your 107 bucks was probably the UPS brokerage fees. Never have anything sent UPS, USPS always.

The whole point is that RCBS care about their customers and I suspect they even google themselves to check there is no bad press. Its a manufacturers warranty not a retailers one. That said in the EU Soviet all ectronics by law has a 2 year warranty regardless of where made as long as purchased in the EU. Now I have never had a reason not to trust them, a customer inserted an unlubed case in a die and it was stuck. Instead of seeing me to get it removed he messed the die up. I told hime rather than wait for me to chase the importer (I would have e mailed RCBS Techs anyway) just drop them a line and it will be sorted. I loaned him my spare dies for the 2 weeks it took to be delivered. It was shipped the day they recieved his email with no questions asked.
resulat a happy customer!
If only I could get that level of support from the importer!
