Hello, well I had something new happen to me today. First the sks kind of farts at me then a round gets stuck. So I bonk it out and pack it up because I know something isn't right. When I got home I tried to place a round in the chamber by hand and it wouldn't seat. Now I believe I have a piece of casing stuck in the chamber. Its below the rifling so a rod won't hit it. So I guess I'm off to the gunsmith because I don't think I have anything that will dislodge it. Any ideas or similar situations? Cheers

Got a stuck shell remover if you want to use it.
It will cost you a beer though :p
Seriously though PM me and I lend you it.

sometimes chambering an empty, pushing the bolt ahead and pulling back will result in the remainder of the broken case coming out. Not a forsure but its worth a try, it has saved a range day for me before!

i had exactly the same thing ... i'll tell you, if it is surplus steel casing broken in half... so the front stuck in the chamber.. you won't pull it out.. i tried really hard. And then sold the gun.. as is..
This is mine, you can see the front half stuck inside. :

i had that happen twice.. once with privi Partizan Brass, then i pulled it out with a tap,
and the second time was the surplus steel casing.. not a chance..

i hope i'm wrong.. Good Luck..

Looks very familiar. Same pickle I'm in. I bet its going to be a Bit$h. I tried an oversize brush, I tried to lift it a bit so a rod could catch it, I tried an empty case. I've tried everything but the case extractor and the tap, but thanks for the tips and support. Cheers

What you have to do is hold your tongue the right way when you are trying to get it out. Field strip the rifle, plug the chamber and fill the bore up with acetone or laquer thinners just enough to cover the broken case. Make sure the plug you use is not affected by the thinners. Remember, acetone or laquer thinners eats plastics and paints. Let it sit for a few hours and then try the methods you have already tried. A tap has worked for me in the past as a extractor. If that does not work I think I would take it to a gunsmith over using Satains extractor, it would be cheaper he drinks way to much beer.

Where can shell extractors for 7.62x39 be bought? My VZ-58 hasn't had this issue, but if it does crop up I'd like an easy way to clear it.

Hey, aren't red rifles so much more reliable than AR's? Never heard of this happening in a commercial AR. :owned:
Of course they don't get stuck shells in the chambe...
Thatz because the BLOW UP when this usally happens!
