A Day of Firsts (coyote hunting pics)

And you said semi auto rifles are useless for hunting!

Damn, maybe I should have kept that Benelli.. :O

Good work though, I expect greater details of this story on Thursday.

I never said they were useless ha, just not my first choice in a rifle. I can work a bolt pretty slick and this was a true test. And yes I am jealous of Americans who can hunt with ARs.

For the guys getting skunked, beleive me I know how you feel I may go a month without calling a dog in and then there are days when I see multiples. This hunt was pure luck. I called one in for a buddy of mine tonight after work and he stopped perfect broadside at 150 yards. His first shot missed and then the coyote took off like a bat out of hell. Between the 2 of us all 4 shots had missed the target. Hopefully we get him next time around.

Good job man and great shooting.

Here's my take from the weekend before last.

Peter 338 that is quite the nice haul. It looks like you have a healthy population up your way. Where did all that snow come from I thought Kamloops was a semi arid part of BC or am I thinking Osoyoos? (sp)

Yup semi arid, in town it comes and goes. Up in the mountains we still get 3 to 10 feet depending on elevation. thats what keeps the lakes and rivers full.

From the time I spent in the Okanagan, i'd say Osoyoos is full-arid. Actually, Osoyoos has to keep the bolt and bolt carrier of its aridity in a seperate locked room and cannot get an ATT for it.:p

Ok, back to serious stuff. Congrats to both Ontario and Peter 338. Can't wait to shoot my first coyote.
