Just bought a new TC Encore Pro-Hunter in .223 Rem to play with. I'm a bolt action guy but figured I can buy a different barrel instead of a new rifle when I get the hitch to try different cartridges. That's how I justified to myself anyway
. I had never even handled one before I got this one so I have a couple questions.
Is the extractor supposed to have upward pressure on the cartridge? The cartridge doesn't slide in the chamber on its own, it has to be pushed in as the extractor is pressing slightly on the cartridge.
All the Encore I have seen in pictures have the overtravel screw at the back to the trigger guard. Mine doesn't have one and is not drilled for one. Is that a new thing?
Thanks, I'm sure I'll have more questions as I start to play with it.
