remmy 700 series

yes yes i know its Remington :p i typed this as i was on my way out the door haha.. shoop had a 5r milspec in stock, looks like that will probably be the one i am goin with... any one know why its not on Remingtons web site? or am i really that blind?

Some hit it right on the spot. The legend is real. They are the 5R barrels from the american sniper rifles. There is a very limited made every year and this is why they are not on the site ect...

A few of us shoot them here and most like mine are sub moa even with factory ammo.

If you do shoot the factory ammo they love federal gold.

If you want a rifle to take you to 1000y this is one that will do it for you over and over.

If you can afford it, a good scope purchase now will save u allot in the future. This gun can take advantage of something nice like a mark 4 m1.

AKD thanks for the input, this wont be my first long distance rifle to purchase. i am just looking for a good out of the box shooter on the "cheaper" side to both purchase and fire, hand loaded .308 is much cheaper then handloaded .338LM haha like i said i just wanna smash gongs with the thing. and its more preferable to teach some one on this then a heavy recoiling gun..

wana trade ?

Here is a link of my add in the EE

5R's are non-cataloged special run rifles so you won't find them on their website. They ARE NOT rejected M24 Barrels, they just share the same rifling. They are also NOT discontinued. I have 2 700 R5's .223 and .308 and by far for the money they shoot great. You can buy them new for about $1150 or used on CGN's for $1300+ LOL.

haha sorry AKD dont plan on sending the .338 any where :p its just a bit pricey to smash a gong with when i can do the same thing for 1/3 of the price.... shooting a .308 the rifle basically buys it self hahaha

lol it was worth a shot.

so what kinda 308 do you think your gona go with?

one bad thing about the 700 imo is the trigger is friggen heavy. even the 40x adjusted.
Savage for a factory trigger is my love.

im prob gonna go with the 5r milspec, it seems like one of the best choices.. i dont mind heavy triggers working on the trades, pulling 6,7,8 lbs triggers isnt a big deal to me, doesnt cause pull or jerk.. im happy aslong as the break clean and crisp

The stock trigger is clean and crisp forsure !

You will be very happy with a 5R.

Where can the model 700 LTR be ordered from? I was leaning towards the 26" models for a bit but now think I'd like the shorter LTR.
