Ignorant replies

Hi to all. I'm just getting started in shooting and have only been a member of CGN for a week. I've been going through the forums and gleaned a great deal of info already. This is a great place to learn. What I have also seen is a lot of people like me asking questions, seeking wisdom from those who have more experience than they do and what they receive are wiseass, rude, and ignorant replies from loud mouth wannabes. If someone is asking a question and you have some productive input by all means pipe up. But if you have nothing better to do that put the guy down and try to make him feel stupid so you can puff up your chest - keep it to yourself. Anyone with any level of intelligence is going to recognize you for the little momma's boy you are and ignore you and any input you have to offer.

You can also use the ignore feature if you find a pattern that you don't enjoy.

That being said, most folks on here are helpful. Once again it is a select few that can be rude, although there is some friendly jabs here and there also.

I think if you can't be bothered to do a search to find an answer to question that has been asked a thousand times, you deserve to be given wiseass replies. This site brings out the best and worst in gun owners. Learn to live with it.
 
Some people forget they were new once. Don't let it get to ya.

Do a search, if you are still unclear, post it and weed out the idiots. If it's a basic question, use the newbie section.

As mentioned above, most people are here to help.

Also, a new guy with one post, usually has to prove he is not a troll. If people suspect a troll that is when the comments start.
 
I double-dog-double-dog dare ya to start a: "What's better, the AK-47 or the M-16?" thread!

That being said, and has already been stated above, the search function really helps to eliminate abuse, and also negates the opinon that the poster of the question isn't lazy. But really, it's just the internet, don't let it hurt your feelings....

Oh, and don't ##### about the EE. This ain't ebay. LOL
 
I have has some dum comments directed to me and in my area. I just ignore it because I know sooner or later he is going to be the only guy on here with that part or gun I have been looking for for years. Then he cant hold it against me. Don't stir up sh*t because it always comes back to get you soon or later.

Not trying to offend the OP but the word Ignorant means: uneducated in general; lacking knowledge or sophistication.

So, you using the word ignorant, to describe people who might be acting dickish, shows that you are actually ignorant of the meaning of the word. Again, not trying to be a ####, this is just a thing that bugs me.

If someone answers a post, without proper knowledge of the subject in question, then their advice is ignorant. If someone's just being a prick, well that's something else.

You're going to have to get used to the way things are around here Jagger. We all did. Things arn't going to change anytime soon. As .30/06FTW said : "Learn to live with it." We all had to. You seem like a good guy from your post Jagger so i hope you stick around. Having thick skin is a must @ CGN though man.

Most here are nice guys, there are very passionate people on here, so if you post in a thread about gun control, lol make sure you know your ####, or duck for cover. There as some asshats too, just ignore them. You may have to weed through 20 posts before you get the intelligent response you were looking for.
 
Just stay away from asking questions like "Whats the best non restricted Black rifle?"
Using words like "Assault Rifle", and for the love of god don't start another bear defense thread and you will be OK
Oh yeah before you ask who is Wendy well she is a crazy egomaniacle loathsome cold hearted ##### I am sure I could go one but I am trying to keep it pg

I think his use of the term ignorant was towards the lack of sophistication.
 
Many forget what it was like to have no basic body of knowledge to build on. ( ie.teenagers are obsessed with ###, but growups have been doing it for decades.) Also, often new people are obsessed with "tacticool" or say things that make the shooting sports look disgusting to the antis. I find lots of reading of old posts helps fill in the blanks without provoking ignorant replies.
