man.... you can't sleep either? gotta be chilly in dawson gettin up this early hehehe we got minus 32 on the dial ;)

is fulton having those made in US or are they a offshore deal..... like wayne manuf , Red white and blue , or there is some others..... wonder if Lee knows.... he knows everything hehehe

Heh heh heh... i've got the family curse to be an early riser. It really sucks sometimes. Good thing there's always someone up on CGN...

From what i found on TFL from Lee, looks life the FA bolts are forged in pennsylvania, and machined in conneticut. So not an overseas thing

you can get most rilfe parts from the states but as long as it does not go over 100 dollers then you need a export import permit

Keep in mind, complete breech (bolt) assemblies are controlled like receivers, barrels and cylinders. Stripped bolts are not.

TITLE 22 - FOREIGN RELATIONS
CHAPTER I - DEPARTMENT OF STATE
SUBCHAPTER M - INTERNATIONAL TRAFFIC IN ARMS REGULATIONS
PART 123 - LICENSES FOR THE EXPORT OF DEFENSE ARTICLES
123.17 - Exports of firearms and ammunition.

123.17(a) Minor components - Components and parts for Category I firearms are exempt from licensing requirements when the total value does not exceed $100 wholesale in any single transaction. Barrels, cylinders, receivers (frames), or complete breech mechanisms are major components and require a license.

Ok so to sum it all up, the answer is NO you can no longer get 1 unless found here on CGN

like i said..... the only two ways i know of right now to legally aquire a genuine m14 bolt

the EE here , either the parts exchange or the very odd time a 12(3) rifle will pop and up and you'll be lucky enough to fork out big coin to get the parts hehehe, or buy a chinese rifle with the internals already the way you like em. (might be letting such an item go.... have a keeper parts kit on the way so might move a all g.i. dressed rifle soon ;) )

or import a M1a type platform from the u.s. that again, already has the goodies you want on board......

other than that...... yer SOL

Not too unreasonable. I just sold an M14S shorty in a Troy MCS with GI bolt, oprod, gas system and trigger group internals for $1900 with goodies.

It certainly cost more than that to build it ;)

Ppl are geenralyl not usualyl willing to pay the full worth of a gun once the price gets much over $1500 in my experience as the pool of potential buyers drops dramatically.

Watch the EE - deals do come up regularly.

Ya I hear you but it seems ever time I find what I'm looking for it's either sold already or the seller isn't willing to part it out cause everyone knows that building it is the best part

And what might that dressed up lady cost, ballpark figure. Or The M1A platform with the goodies in it cost, again ballpark figure

bearing in mind that as a business i do not sell rifles, and this is not an ee add LOL and these rifles from my personal collection, are not actually for sale at this time, though i have mentioned them to a few select folks by p.m. ;) , one all g.i. with a krieger dmr barrel..... probably pushin 3000.00 and an all H&R , walnut stocked all traditional, that i wouldn't take a penny under 2500 for . these aren't just mashed together rifles though, parts were selected and fitted until i was happy that they were proven shooters. Compared to prices of box stock and upgraded springfield m1a's the above "ballpark" pricing looks pretty good.

by definition M1a bolt would not be USGI....

By definition but there are exceptions. My 2001 M1A came from the Geneseo factory with a TRW bolt and HRA oprod. SAI always used some USGI parts but progressively less over the last 30 years.

Long story short, when you see a used M1A, inspect it (or ask picture of the markings on the web). With some luck it will come with USGI parts and the owner won't even know.

I have a question concerning bolts and recievers, if you are in the states, and buy one, can you bring it back with you, or change the packaging and mail it to yourself?

M14 Bolts and all firearm Receivers are ITAR items subject to Dept of State export controls.

You break US law in the US at your own peril.

Ok... Someone said that bolt assemlies are non exportable. But components are exportable. What if I had a friend in the us order one, strip it down and mail me the pieces? Would that work?
