Manitoba deer hunting?

Deer Hunting In Manitoba...

I used to hunt the SW part of Manitoba(Phearson area)Push&post during the day, still hunt mornings and evenings. This several times I hunted there were FANTASTIC!The gang rule was bucks only til the last day,we rarely tagged does and shot some monster bucks.Northwest Ontario cant even come close to the quality hunting I've done there. And the Locals have to be the most friendly folks BAR NONE1

I used to hunt with a few friends that pushed bush, but nobody shot towards anyone, or it was their last time hunting with us. I now mostly sit in a ground blind, or still hunt. I shot a good eating 4x4 this year.

What kind of 4x4 did you get? Dodge, Chevy or a Ford? How long did you have to marinate it to make that edible? :nest::p

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I don't agree with yours. It seems a little high and mighty. Any newbie can nail running shots, right:agree:.How do you hunt that requires so much more skill than doing a push? :nest:

Simply stated that all have their own methods of putting meat on the table:)...nothing about being "high and mighty" As for running shots...I never much cared for seeing deer running with shot off legs and such...only too be killed in a hail of bullets.

Any person that claims to be an crack running shot is full of it. How many deer I have seen shot through the hinds, guts, jaws shot off, etc... by folks that claim to be excellent shots...but I guess a dead deer is a dead deer.

Just like my animals shot through the bolier room, If they are mooching through the brush a simple "awh" is enough to stop the biggest buck for a one shot kill.

Actually you did come off as high and mighty......You said pushing bush wasn't hunting IYO. How else would one take that?

There are plenty of very proficient shooters that are excellent at taking down running game..To say there isn't is pretentious. Just because you can't doesn't mean others can't.

How about hunting in Manitoba.
Anyone done it?... do you have fun like I do, with the great people I hunt with, and did you get youre deer?:D
Also would a 30-06 be safe enough to use on deer when on point and men are walking towards you?.... or shooting a 30-06 while on the move pushing deer to the point men?...:)

Getting back to the original question of this post... yes I have done it. There's no sense in coming to Manitoba to hunt deer though because they are very few and far between. You'd be way better off going to Alberta or Saskatchewan, that's where all the really big deer hang out. Move along now no deer to see around here!:D

We do it all the time, and have for years,,Good to talk to you Nick..

Yes we do... and its a load of fun, and we do our best to keep it safe:)

Good to see you on CGN Gary....:D

At the end of a hard working day hunting deer, its good to know youre coming home to good friends and good laughs. It doesnt really matter what size buck youve got hanging when all that counts is the people you spend quality time with, and you Manitobans are second to none.:D

:agree: Nothing here but jackrabbits and gophers;)

But I bet you haven't seen too many deer, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Absolutely correct! There are very few deer in manitoba. I only hunt there because it's easier walking than BC or Alberta, and the scenery is marginally more pleasant than Saskatchewan. And very few of those pesky deer so the chances of getting your hands dirty are pretty remote.:D

Or maybe sitting, waiting for the big one to wonder in..

Just too busy editing my next television hunting production. A bunch of good old Manitoba boys hunting whitetails. Two guys will be standing at the end of a long square bush while eight more move through the bush yelling and screaming:D Gonna be a real hit!:nest:
