Marlin 795, fits your needs, I have one it has over 500 rounds through it, only 1 FTE other than that it only stopped for dud ammo. It is far more accurate than the 10/22 and considerably cheaper.
God people hate on the 10/22.
What's better than a 10/22?
NOTHING

Honestly I don't know much about other .22s but my dad has an old winchester with a tube mag that works great. I had a Lakefield that was so bad i took it in to be destroyed. I really like my 10/22.
My experience is very different from yours. Be prepared to put in a new extractor because it won't run without it! If you are one of those people who expect something brand-new to work properly then don't bother buying a 10/22.
Anyone out there with a T/C R-55 Benchmark? I'd like to hear if the rifle lives up to the claims. I was considering buying one, but Cabella's suddenly upped the price by over a $100 and I went decked out 10/22 instead.
Now thats nice! I really like your 10/22 to!
.....
I own a R-55 Benchmark. Very well built and very accurate. I bought it for long range .22 shooting. It groups sub MOA at 100 and around 5' at 200 yard with target ammo.
However, my other 22, a Marlin 60 basically goes toe-to-toe with my R-55 in accuracy and reliability ($180 vs. $700). go figure! Two different class of semi .22 rifles, but both will shave circles around any 10/22.
Just amazed at the inherent accuracy of Marlin 60 design.
, will, I need to see an unbiased comparison of apples to apples.
My model 60 with a 4x bushnell scope will put 'em under .5" all day long at 50m. I have NEVER seen a semi shoot this accurately out of the box for under $600... totally blown away by it's accuracy and reliability.
I don't have a 10/22 to compare it to, but I don't want one either. I've handled and shot one numerous times, and I can tell you the stock 10/22 does not even come close to my 60ss.
