I have been buying and selling for 3 years on a few sites. I must say it has been refreshing to PM with so many people and make so many good deals.
I wanted to tell you of the other side of EE life. It has made me a bit of an outcast with friends and relatives. Most think a gun is part of the family and never to be sold. I have sold some before it got to my house from the previous owner. Some I have never shot and some shot a few times. A few I will keep forever, like my 94 Win in 7-30 Waters.
I have learned a lot from seeing all these different guns and I love to see the differences in models.
I was not prepared for being an outcast. Friends ask me why I bought a gun and then look at me funny when I say 'to sell it'. I have bought beaters to fix and new ones to use to work a deal on something else. I need help.
My wife is one of the worst for not getting it. I usually get a look and 'What this time' when a new box shows up. She figures my excitement for a new gun should last as long as our marriage. Then she wants to know its for sale as she figures a bursting safe is enough guns for me. Don't get her wrong she has a few too. A shotgun and a rifle that she will never sell and could care less about most times.
I have no 12 step program.
I see an end to my wheeling and dealing just for a while because I can quit any time I want. If it makes life easier for everyone else. No more heads shaking at me. And maybe then I could go shoot a few guns and see what that side of the sport is like. I used to be normal. I think...
