If I wanted to get a standard, run of the mill, military issue M4 Rifle ...

I'm new to this forum, but not new to firearms or importing them.
I'm calling BS. Either you have never actually done an import, or you have not calculated the expenditure that it requires, or you are not doing the math properly.

Either way, it costs a lot more than $100-$200 to import ANY firearm, and especially to do it for a commercial venture.

You are wrong. Period.

This has been discussed, and proven time and time again on these pages.

And the bottom line is, if it is that easy to make "all that money" for a $100-$200 cost, then bring them in and show everyone how to do it.

Maybe Clayton will chime in here and settle this once and for all.

I suspect this pricing does not apply to restricted firearms.

I have no need to buy another gun just yet but if I had an excuse to call and find out first hand...

The only stipulation he makes is that he does not import prohibs. He makes no differentiation between res and nonres. But you are right, confirmation would be welcome

You know it's funny how you can show proof to some of the putz's on this forum and they still will not believe it. I have used prophetriver river once before on a high end firearm, saved a pile compared to some of the quotes I got in Canada........

Well it's all a question of scale. If you're importing something priced sub $700 in Canada like a Glock 17 , then you know what, it might not be worth it to do it. But if one can save 50% on a milspec Colt AR15 just by waiting a few weeks then it's worth it for sure, whether or not one chooses to accept it.

Yup, this sh!t again...

AR15 in Canada, $1800

Same AR15 in US, $775

$1 CAD = $1.00912 USD

Cost to import $100 - $250 depending on method.
$700 discrepency :50cal:

Actually, those are 2 different rifles. One is the Model 4 (U.S. site), the other is the model 4L (Wolverine). The Model 4 (the same rifle that you have on the states link) is $1500 at Arms East, $300 less than you're saying it is. If you're going to do a comparison like this, as least do it with the same rifle... And don't get the U.S. rifle from an auction site... use an FFL dealer selling a new rifle at retail, like Wolverine is...

All of that being said, when will you be bringing in the $1500 Colt 6920's? Tell me, because I will buy one for that price. If you're not going to be bringing them in, then stop whining.

You done editing your post yet?

News Flash - most gun auction retailers have a federal firearms license.

So I picked the left handed version instead of the right version of the same firearm - sorry about that. Turns out you only save 33% instead of 45%. Who wants that, right?

You know what Ar180shooter, if you want to spend more of your money then you have to well that's your god given right. And since you need me to hold your hand for you , here you go: You can get a Colt 6920 for $1500 by going HERE then HERE. And because it's you... I'm going to need the money in advance.

I'm done arguing with you. Like my wise old pappy used to say, never argue with an idiot because the best thing that can happen is you can say you won an argument with an idiot...

No, I want YOU to go through the trouble of importing it, that was my entire point... I guess it went way over your head though.

It's easy when you don't compare the same rifle, or try and bring in Colt AR products, or SIG, or HK, etc etc.
And you bring it in as a one time thing for yourself and don't require the need to pay employees, or yourself for the time.
Or any of the myriad of other issues surrounding the "exotic" firearms on the State Dept lists.
Again, easy to yap on here.

Yup, let's see someone put their mouth where the wallet is, I'll buy a 6920 at that price, probably two or three.

My old man used to tell me many moons ago "Never smarten up a sucker"
I think alot of people will appreciate this import option on higher dollar value firearms, I know I did.

In the end guns cost what they cost here in Canada and no one in the US is exporting barrels shorter than 16 inches. Breaking US export laws will get you shut down very quickly just ask Cav Arms and Sabre Defense. So no Colt made M4 clone for you.

A 16 inch Stag will run you $1360 from Arms East. They are solid reliable rifles.

I am sick of hearing people ##### about a couple hundred dollars on something they should be feeding a couple of grand worth of ammo a year. Get over it or import it yourself, if it is so easy or cheap get on with it. Hell become a dealer and buy a private jet, but get on with it.

And a lot of people are obviously upset that they spent money that they didnt have to.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
