If I wanted to get a standard, run of the mill, military issue M4 Rifle ...

Why would I bother with any of that hassle when I can pay someone $200 to do it for me, ass?

It doesnt take long for an outsider to learn that there are a LOT of thick skulls in this forum.

This thread is being re-opened by request. However posters need to keep it polite. Bashing somebody and being rude to them just because they are new will stop now.

Let this be a warning for some of you who think "newbie" bashing is some sort of fun activity.

brokensoldier makes a good point here, I have no idea why koldt and others have such a hard time accepting it's merit.

Yeah for cheaper guns and parts support our Canadian dealers, why not. But, when it comes to the likes of ACR, SCAR, Colt, Noveske etc. etc. why not pay someone like prophet river to handle the paper work. I mean the prices are so inflated up here, that if I can buy a basic ACR for 2k plus the 200 buck import fee and save $1500 bucks why the f**k not. If all I gotta do is wait a bit longer who cares. If the SCAR ever is allowed for export again, the same savings can be had. With these two examples it's quite clear someone along the line is doing some gouging...

I think these import companies like prophet river are our industries best kept secret, some more promoting needs to happen for this service.

My offer stands, I will purchase EVERY Colt 6920 and 6940 for the $1000 + $200 for fees, that the guy on this thread says he can export/import and deliver them for.

Dude are you serious, just call PR I just got off the phone with them, we talked about doing this for an ACR once the FLR is released. She said just go buy it from an american dealer, send them the info and PR would handle the rest.

Mind you I have to buy the fixed stock and 16" barrel but so does everyone else...

Whats so hard to get?

Think about this just for a second. IF Prophet River could import and sell Colt 6920 and 6940 rifles for the mythical price that you and the other buyer state, why aren't they doing that? They could undercut every other seller here in Canada and be making a bucket of money.

Prophet River web site doesn't mention Colt, KAC, Troy, etc or any other the "black gun" manufacturers.

Maybe we could have a representative of Prophet River come to this thread and tell us what they are willing to sell factory Colt 6920s & 6940s for, and guarantee they will have them in on a specific date or in stock similar to the dealers who are doing it now.

^^^ Didn't I say that 20 posts ago????? ;)

I'm racking by brain thinking what Black Gun I NEED to buy to test this process for myself...

Alas I'm almost gunned out for the foreseeable future. (I haven't felt this content in a while )

Yah, if anyone here could bring in 6920's and 6940's and sell them for around the 1.5k mark, they'd sell like hotcakes. I know I'd buy one... hell, I'd probably buy two.

However, I imagine that if they did this, they wouldn't even cover their costs...

I'll post my challenge here. If anyone who thinks dealers are over charging... Bring in a new Colt 6920 and sell it for $1500 (+13% HST). I will buy it. Show me the goods for that price and I'll hand you the money, no muss, no fuss. I don't care how you get it into the country, as long as it's all legally exported from the U.S. and imported into Canada.

The silence will be deafening.
Put me down for 2 @ $1500 + HST. I got lots of time to wait.:nest:

I owe an apology to the original poster of this thread, I did not realize how much commotion my comment would cause. That was not my intent.

I am going to start a new thread about LE6920, and all those who feel the need to argue about it can take it over there. I think we owe it to the original poster to leave this argument out of his/her thread.

556 guns are non-exportable for commercial re-sale.

I read with interest brokensoldier's auction purchase story, and I hope he will report back on how it all turns out.

My question is will be how much of his money he gets back once all is said and done.

I do know that the rifle shown in the auction cannot leave the USA. If it could, my life would be a whole lot easier.

I try not to speak out of my lane on these things, and I'm not.

I don't know why anyone would choose between the 6940 & 6920 anyway?:D
BTW, yes, 14.5 barrels, and no, they ain't photoshopped. All Colt, 'cept the glass and mag of course. Oh ya, and the one PRI handle.

Wow!

The Bushmeister Carbines look like an American copy of the Norinco. Are these the mid range $1400 dollar good starters, Winnipegger referred to?:p

That Mil-Spec Kool-aid , sure looks tasty on a hot august afternoon on the firing line. It makes me feel so thirsty,I wish mama could give me an allowance for that.V:I:

I liked the Nork M-4 copy so well, i went and bought another Nork rifle, the M-14s.:dancingbanana:

Probaly not a "Mil-spec", Thompson-Ramo_Wooldridge M-14, firing rounds through the jungles of South East Asia in 1966, but for $449.00 CDN, what could I get for that from our Allies to the south, that was so much fun? A Ruger 10/22? No wait, that ain't Mil-spec neither!:agree:
