Just bought one and fell in love the first time I pulled the trigger. It reminded me of an FN-C1.....yes I know it's different so don't go there, nostalgic wise it brough back memories of the good old battle rifles with an incredible trigger. The barrel is light and heats up fairly quickly opening up the groups, so if your buying one for a run and gun don't, stick with a mil-spec rifle.
If your looking for a semi auto to take into the field for coyotes or whatever and takes AR mags, this gets a thumbs up. I already tried it in my saddle scabbard and it fits like a glove, for me I found my new ranch rifle. Is it the best out there....comes down to personal preference,as a total package and dollar for dollar value, Rob arms XCR is king in my opinion. To get a good scope mounting on my MR1 I removed the rear sight, by itself the irons are great, but with optics a pain in the arse, in my opinion a full length rail with a flip up rear site would have been king and made this rifle a little more attractive to tactical shooters. A milspec barrel would have been outstanding also, and would probably go along way in maintaining rapid fire accuracy.
Now why did I take this over an XCR... I love the AR-15 platform for tactical run and gun and got that covered. I wanted a working ranch rifle that takes AR mags, and loving the old battle rifles like the FN-C1 and the Hk-91/G3 this rifle gave me the feel of having one of those in my hands again probably more psychological than anything. In the end the package is a great shooter if shot in moderation...easy on rapid fire or accuracy goes for crap, Awsome trigger with quick reset.. Double taps are exceptionally accurate. For me the rifle fits..ergonomics in all positions is a pleasure to shoot. Low recoil. In my opinion this is one of those rifles that will be a love hate relationship, for me I love it enough to overlook the minor Benelli oversites and hope they make improvements in the future and build on a rifle I feel has great potential in the civilian or LE market.
