Commercially reloaded ammo- what's the point?

So, used more 9mm than usual recently, and started looking for lower cost options to restock.

Don't have the space or time to dabble in reloading at the moment, so looked as some of the 'commercial stuff', NOT handloads that someone's doing on the side.

I can get Winchester white box for less than $27 for 100; and the remanufactured stuff seems to go for about that or more.

So, what's the point? Is it that the factory reloads are putting more money into consistent powder or better primers or...? Does it make more sense for calilbers other than 9mm?

Way I see it, buying new commercial, I pay about the same AND have once fired brass to eventually do something with.
 
I have used Wolf reloaded ammo quite a bit, and I have been able to pick it up cheaper. I can't tell the difference between them and the factory stuff.
 
For 38 special I saved about 10 bucks(shipping inc) a box by buying Wolf ammo from SFRC. I reload my self but this is a new calibre and I don't have much brass.

The 9mm they have listed but you would not save as much as you mention it seems calibre dependeant.
 
The last BDX 9mm ammo I bought was just under $200/1000. While $7/100 doesn't seem that much, it is still 26% cheaper. I can buy 35% more ammo than you for the same money. To me, that is worth the difference. The BDX ammo has worked fine for me in my guns, no misfires or duds in a few thousand rounds. It is certainly equal to factory ammo for my uses.

Pistol brass lasts a lot longer than rifle cartridges, so getting it once fired or 4x fired is less of an issue.

Actually, I CAN see 25% adding up pretty quickly.... what IS BDX and where do you buy it?
 
Google combat masters in Canada....company south of Calgary that sells in bulk, usually have to by at least a few thousand rounds for it to be worth his while....last year a bunch of us got a small pallet sent up here. Great guy but as with most folks in the industry overworked and hard to get a hold of...once you get him though he is worth the wait.

Kurt's site says a minimum 2 case order (1200 rounds/case of 9mm) for shipping and 4 cases for pick up. I have bought ammo from him twice and have been happy with the deals, but he is sometimes very hard to get in contact with.

Just bought some 9mm ammo from BDX. Have you guys used a lot of it? Is it pretty good stuff? Before I buy a few thousand rounds i thought i'd see if any of you guys have had issues with it? i have a SR9

I have used a couple thousand rounds (I think, I have lost count) with no difficulties. Both my 9's are Norcs, one is a Dlask tuned NP-29 (1911) and the other is a stock NP-34 (SIG P228 clone). Most of the guys I have shot with used the BDX ammo in 9mm, through a variety of SIG's, Glocks, MP9's and others. I never saw anyone have an issue with it.

Hey guys, I apologize in advance for what is probably the dumbest question ever posted but here goes (im new on here) :

How do i go about finding if guys are ever trying to sell rifles or even pistols? I"ve been searching on here but cant seem to come up with anything. Again, im sorry for the grade 3 question.

Just got my order of 15,000 9mm :D Bullets only of course. But the man does have some good prices on primers for those who still like to roll their own

you need permission to access the EE for firearms etc...PM a moderator and they will hook you up. Lots of firearms for sale on here.
