Taurus 24/7 OSS first impressions UPDATED

hmm, that's a light-to-medium load. i'm used to a hot-ass-mofo load on mine (Glock 22), so that explains the not-too-snappy recoil. try a full load of Longshot powder (around 7.5 to 8 grains). that ought to be quite snappy and then some!

seems you're saying that the DA trigger feels better and smoother than the SA trigger - is that about right? how easy are the slide-release and mag-release controls to get to? do you drop the slide using your thumb on the lever or do you pull the slide back with your other hand and then release it?

maybe the next batch might do some hotloads.
I liked the the DA it was smooth single isnt too bad I just find it too far back to engage and just not used to the reset yet.
the controls are good even with my short fingers, thumb can reach the safety and stretch a tiny bit to decock it.
I did drop the slide with the slide release few times its not hard or ntchy just feels new. normally I sling shot into battery the slide is not hard it is very smooth.
the dimples are good for finger placement, texture is nice but I see in time if you get sweaty hands. maybe a few well placed pieces of grip tape might be in order.
still on my mind at this time is why the mag will not accept 10 rounds some research is needed.

maybe you got a 9mm mag for your 40cal pistol? and if it's single-stacked (one side totally blocked off), then that would easily account for the extra round

single-stacked:
10 of 9mm rounds is around 99.5mm tall (9.95mm case diameter)
9 of 40cal rounds is around 97.2mm tall (10.8mm case diameter)

could be but it is definitely stamped .40, they load staggered can see it through the round indicator hole will try putting 9mm in the offending mag for curiosity sake. I took them both apart they look identical. cleaned the inside and the follower so i am a little stumped. its a new pistol so i have contacted sfrc http://www.theammosource.com/ and explained the situation I will see what comes of it.

I'll drop you a reply about it tonight, we'll get it sorted out for you. I'm just trying to get all of todays orders boxed up. The Valentines days sale we put on put us abit behind.

I think it is because I have some resistance in DA and in Sa from where the trigger rests and where it engages I find it long. I will adapt to it, with my m&p it engages almost right away I guess I got too comfortable so change is good. next range trip with it I should be good. ;)

Nice update. Funny you like the DA more than the SA.
