So here is my first impressions of my new taurus 24/7 OSS. Let me start I have had a couple of .40’s and was looking for the one that just fits.I like having .40 in my collection it isn’t my fav caliber but I do like to shoot it once and a while. So I wanted something different looked at a lot of manufactures and all seemed similar. the Taurus 24/7 was available from the ammo source and was on sale it looked nice on some of the reviews I seen on youtube so I took a chance. First impressions I like how grip feels thin like a 1911. It has curves and indentations in the right places my hand fills it up to the slide just right. The grip is textured so that won’t tear your hands apart. Plastic frame is really solid it doesn’t feel cheap at all slide doesn’t rattle its tight in fact wife commented how easy and smooth it was she has had trouble with a lot of semi’s. long barrel should be accurate it is nice and thick shoul be able to handle a lot of rounds. Mag release isn’t in the way you know its there and is smooth to eject a mag. Field strip is easy, Rail for your toys, safety and DE cocker, there is a red cocked indicator at the back of the slide. Chamber loaded indicator on the right side kind of a small red fin. The part I like best so far it behaves like other DAO pistols but it also has the second try so if it goes click you can do a full pull and hit it again. I have yet to take it to the range, that part will come later on. So far I like what I see and feels good in my hand for the price. Heads up this is not a ipsc legal gun. Comments are welcome good or bad.
sorry about the video quality and music is there to drown out background noise.
(pics got deleted sorry)
finally got to take it to the range here is the info I gathered. sorry no video out of respect for the other shooters there.
indoor range
120 rounds
reloads specs: .40 180 gr 5.0 grain of win 231
paper target 8.5x11 freebie target at 10 yards
: I shot consistantly to the left with it. this has to do with me because I did bench it and it was all good from the bench. need to work on my grip with it or some well placed grip tape.
: double action from the decocked point is very smooth
: from the cocked position feels a little spongee, reset is decent
: trigger is not gritty at all
: recoil wasn't as snappy as some .40 I have tried recovery was good from my point of view
: I had one double feed out of the rounds i fired
: biggest problem I had was the magazines, I could only get 9 in it. I did take one apart and was able to get 10 in it after reassembly. will have to work on them.
not sure how the .45 cal of this would be, if someone has experience with it let us know your thoughts.
good for what I bought it for "fun" and a change of caliber.
couple of my targets they were all the same
