I'll answer that anyway puma. I won't know til they get here but the stock may be a standard M4 stock, this is the only picture I have at the moment.

Is the top end the same as the Chiappa .22 upper that is sold on it's own? Or is this a whole new product?

Keep the pistol version out of Canada.

It will end up making magazines of more than 10 rounds illegal, just like with the Smith and Wesson.

Or is it already too late?

Same reasons as with the S&W MP15-22 or?

i thought that was only because a pistol version was made? perhaps they will be making a pistol version?

Also, can any of you point me i a direction where i can read about the Chiappa company? Are they any good? What is their country of origin? etc

Also, do you know whether or not it is made out of metal or polymer like the MP15-22?

" Top is the same as the Chiappa upper. "

Does that mean the Chiappa lower is also compatible with a .223 upper?

They are already pinned to 10 rounds. So too late. But there are still legal 50 round drum magazines and aftermarket 30 rounders, assuming it takes black dog mags same as the upper.

maybe a stupid question?

Is this going to be restricted?
Why is it I can have a 10/22 with a fifty round mag but this has to be pinned at 10?
Thanks.

Pistol version = pistol magazines (limited at 10 rounds). And yes its restricted as an AR-15 variant.

This is starting to create a lot of weird situations with magazines, with several different guns now using interchangeable mags between rifles and handguns.

For example;

The new JR-Carbine 9mm is a semi-automatic, centerfire rifle which uses 10 round Glock handgun magazines.

So far, everything has been cool. But what happens when the RCMP decides that all Glock mags need to be pinned to 5 rounds, because they fit in this rifle?

That is not the law. Its been discussed a billion times. If it is made for a pistol then 10 rounds regardless of use. Rilfle = 5 rounds. If it is advertised as dual purpose the RCMP usually chooses the more restricted of the 2. So for rimfire they chose pistol because its 10 rounds instead of unlimited and if it was centerfire they would chose rifle because it is only 5 rounds. Its not like some mind boggling thing.

" That is not the law. "

Who said it was the law?

The RCMP can ban whatever they like. They have already banned a couple of .22 rimfire rifles, simply because they are cosmetically similar to an AK-47 or an MP-5.
That wasn't "the law" either.

The RCMP cannot ban anything they like. The catagory of variant is very ill defined and the .22 AK was specifically named in legislation. The law on magazine limits is fairly clear. Anyways, there are many dicussions about this on non dealer forums.
