NEW!! Chiappa AR15 M4 22LR 16" Barrel 10 Round Mag

" Anyways, there are many dicussions about this on non dealer forums. "

I agree;

The important question to discuss here is whether or not the lower of this rifle is interchangeable with other AR uppers.

Like for example; Could I buy this rifle and a Norinco .223 and swap the uppers and lowers?

Not really necessary I admit. But it would add significantly to the cool factor.

Never mind, I found the answer.

From the Chiappa website;

Lower receiver: General dimension are mispec, with the exception of the fixing pins, so it is possible to couple it only with our upper receiver.

Not a big deal. It still looks like a very nice rifle. And it's miles closer to an actual AR than any of it's competitors. The price looks really good too.

As I read that, since it can't fit a standard milspec AR lower, that just might be enough to have it non-restricted (it should be non-res anyway IMHO :D)

Is this going to be restricted?
Why is it I can have a 10/22 with a fifty round mag but this has to be pinned at 10?

Because the law and the Government that created it suck, that IS THE ONLY REASON, no logic at all.

Should be, by all accounts other than appearance, it should be non-restricted. For the reason it IS restricted, refer to my answer above.

So, the question remains. I just sold my M&P 15-22 because of the pistol mag issue. If I buy this rifle, am I just going to need to pin more mags? Can I even get 30 rounds mags?

At this point I am having a hard time seeing any reason to buy these restricted .22 AR's.

The RCMP cannot ban anything they like. The catagory of variant is very ill defined and the .22 AK was specifically named in legislation. The law on magazine limits is fairly clear. Anyways, there are many dicussions about this on non dealer forums.

Actually the law states for the Firearm the magazine was intended to be used in .

So if its made for a rifle which these obviously are then it shouldnt mean #### wether theres a pistol version or not as they obviously didnt make the magazines for the pistol before even releasing it ..

Thats what i thought too , the 10 round pinning was suppose to be done to the SW m&p 15-22 magazines only , now its all restricted rimfires ?

No, the mag restriction was only for the 15-22 because it is also a pistol mag and therefore has to be limited to 10 rounds.

This rifle may ship with California legal 10 round mags. California is 10 rounds no matter what, even for rimfire.

Anyone have one of these/care to offer a quick review. I was nearly sold on the M&P 15-22 but now i see this! :(

I dont see the point of a rimfire thats restricted + it has its factory mags pinned. I would prob think about just the upper but aftermarket mags tend to suck.
