the 10 round tripp mags aren't any longer then a standard mag with an edbrown bumped on the bottom. those fit with room to spare. The 10 round 40's are great becuase you can still run in standard up here without being down a round, thats why I choose them.

I've shot my .45 single stack for years and I like to think I faired well with it while shooting against mostly .40 guns... only switched to 40 last year and mostly due to the rule change of no extended mags and cause ammo is harder to come by and too pricey....

but if you want a .40 in SS, I wouldn't blame you, as others have said, cheaper ammo, easier to afford to shoot more...
but also, if you can get 10 rnds. in some .40 mags... then what's the point to shoot in SS division in Canada ?
hmm... if I knew that, maybe I would have only changed my top end (if that would have fit and mags fit, etc..?)

I would like to see the capacity capped like USPSA. It had been stated on the GV about not endorsing a caliber or a capacity restriction in any of the divisions because it is the exact opposite; look at Production. There is no recognition for power other than making the minimum minor factor, and the capacity is restricted now. I know that this capacity restriction doesnt mean much to us only being allowed 10 rounds, but I like the original idea where guys with .45 acp 1911's would have a division to use these guns competitively. As long as all matches aren't designed favoring shooters with 10 round magazines, all won't be lost.

talking about Canada,...would not the .40 SS in a Trojan or Duty one (etc) be a good option if it fit in the box for Standard division using 10rd mags?

If you want to shoot .40, shoot in the currently available Standard Division.

This single stack division should be .45 only. If a .45 shooter entered in the Standard division they are up against smaller major calibers with less recoil. Also if you wanted to shoot a single stack .45 you only have 8 rounds because a 10 round extended mag will not fit in the box. Double suck.

I'm in if the Single Stack .45 Division ever makes it way into IPSC. .45 is the only real way to shoot.
