Did my black badge course this weekend gone, and among other things realized that my 'cheapo' handloads werent the best idea.
124gn CMJ sitting on 4.4gn of Red Dot didn't make for the most comfortable shooting. Im no marksman (yet), but I was having a hell of a time. Alot of it is a need for me to work on my sight picture consistency, but I know a good part of it was the ammo.
For comparison at one point, and for my final two exercises, I switched out to American Eagle 115gn FMJs - marked improvement. I went from half A's and the rest C's to all A's.
So I want to figure out a good load for my Glock 17 - something that is going to provide decent, consistent accuracy and a manageable recoil. Any suggestions as to where to start? I have limited options as to powder, but was thinking Unique? Possibly Tightgroup? I have the Hornady reloading manual and these are options (among others) but would like to know what others have found works well in their Glocks
