A buddy of mine just got an AG42 (not sure if it is a "B" or not yet.) handed down to him. It is in pretty rough shape, it obvoiusly has not been fired in a long while. The bore is hard to see clearly, it's got so much dust in it. Once we get it taken apart and soaked in some cleaner for a bit and get the bore cleaned out then I guess we'll know if it is worth restoring or not. It is the first time I have ever seen one and they are pretty cool. I did a search on the forums and came up with the standard info, being loud as old hell, action can take your finger off, sticky ammo, gas tube mods and such. But is there any other info we should know about this thing?
If it turns out that the bore is in good shape, we will probably refinish the stock, give it a light sanding and try and polish it up with some linseed oil or something. Can anyone recomend what type of oil to use for the stock? I'll post some pics when I get some
Thanks,
PA
