Hey guys this is my very first post and I have a huge issue!!! Im looking forward to buying a semi-auto 12 gauge...I have 3 choices at my local shop wich are the benelli SBE2, Beretta xtrema2 and the new benelli supper vinci! I shoot clays everyday I can off-season so I'm looking to buy one gun and do it all!!! This won't be an easy descision I know!!! Thnx guys!!!!

Go Benelli if you are using for ducks/geese. I have had issues with two Berettas that didn't cycle in rainy waether. One was an Extrema, and the other a Urika2.

I do however have a Beretta Pintail that cycles in all weather conditions.

I have my mind set on a benelli and so far it's gonna be the SBE2...it just feels so meant to be in my hands :p I like the super vinci and it might be the next-gen but I personaly don't think I can go wrong with the SBE2! Correct me if I'm wrong I'm new to this!

Extrema all the way with the Vinci a close second. I have seen the SBE's jam - alot - if they're not kept immaculately clean. If you plan to clean every time you use it - even between a morning and afternoon - then it is a great gun as well. I had the Urika and never had a single issue and moving to the Extrema the pattern has continued. Put a Patternmaster choke in whatever you buy and you'll take a pile of ducks and geese.

It's a hard descision...everyone is saying something different as I kinda expected and putting that much money in a gun you don't want to regret it!! Like I said! I shoot 3-400 clays a week almost year long then duck/geese with my brother in law soo i want something easy to clean thats gonna handle all sorts of ammo and abuse!!

I've been reading endless thread on random forums and 95% rate the sbe2 as lengendary but I think anyone paying that much for a shotgun will tend to brag about it all over...i just don't wana get screwed :p

One thing I noticed about reviews and comments is that there's a nasty mix of jealousy/personal pref. (brand loyalty) instead of actual heads up testing in between these guns! I would love to hear from someone who shot em' all and see what he thinks (not paid to brag witch benelli seems to spam lol!)

Beretta & Benelli are part of the parent Beretta Group, as is Franchi, Sako, Tikka, Burris and Stoeger.

I have shot the models of both makes that you've metioned, plus several more ( Explor Cordoba, M2, etc.)

At the top end, I found the Extrema2 K/O to be more comfortable shoot than the SBEII with both 3" and 3-1/2" loads. The SBEII did not want to function reliably with 1 oz. target loads ... although some report that they will.

My preference instead would be for the 391 Urika, particularly if you want to shoot it primarily as a target gun, with secondary or more limited use for ducks & geese. I also like the Benelli Cordoba, but don't like the porting - either for a target gun or in the duck blind. Quality 3" steel loads (like Kent Fasteels @ 1560fps) work very well indeed for waterfowl. Never found the more expensive 3-1/2" shells to be more advantageous or required.

The action on the Beretta Pintail was a SBE proto-type designed by Benelli and licenced to Beretta.

mind set! Meant to be in my hands!

The quality is there. There are no guarantees here. Picking a gun is not like marrage where it is ideal to make it life long. The Benelli may not end up to be the one, but the nutz and bolts of it is of superior quality.

I used to own a benelli and now own two beretta autos. There was nothing wrong with the benelli but for me the beretta and me were a better match.
That said if you are looking for something that is easy to clean pick the SBE.
I picked the Berettas for other reasons than ease of cleaning.

For me I picked the 391 Parallel target, but I sure have a desire to have another fling with the benelli. I feel your pain of having to pick ONE, but I am a little older and fortunate enough to be able to fool around on the side.;)

For a clays gun, you can't beat the Urika from Beretta, the out number Benelli's at any sporting clays event 10 to 1. FS
