I’m sure there are fellows on here that have tossed a few more rounds down range then i have but not too many.
Running into a issue though. How do you keep it interesting after you shrunk your groups considerably, tested great amounts of powder, plinked with the 22 till every clay piece is turned to powder, rebuilt old mausers till they shot moa or better, mastered both left and right hand, shoot 2 moa off hand at 100 yards?
Do you move onto clay or skeet, muskets, black powder, which seems too fool proof now, only use a slingshot for three months?

I have my restricted so maybe time for some revolvers and pistols and cowboy shoots now?

Btw if you have a pistol you might trade, I have a 308 mauser 1941 re-barreled heavy barrel shoots moa with no load development. Pm if you want pictures. Doesn’t have to be a pistol. Just needs to be something fun.

Competition, be it service rifle, action pistol, cowboy whatever. Unless you win every single time without effort the drive to beat others will keep everything very fun. Where are you located?

X2, take it to the next level.

You'll meet a lot of friendly, knowledgeable people and have fun competing.

Competition will make you a better shooter.

You've already been given some great suggestions of how to keep the interest up, and to recap a little:
1/ Sort of along the lines of what was mentioned by shanedapane, a few of us used a similar trick, but instead of a stick, we play 'golf'. Golf balls instead of sticks. Also, drill and nail them up at a variety of distances at our somewhat informal range facility. Hit'em with a 22 cal 50gr V-MAX and they vaporize. That's as close to playing golf as I'll ever get.
2/ As mike shickele suggested, take up another shooting discipline such as handgun shooting. To my way of thinking, that's probably the most difficult of the three to master.
3/ The idea put forth by Camp Cook is one I find easy to go with. Buy more guns. Hard to argue with that one.
4/ The one by Yogi05 is probably one of the best of the list, considering the steady gradual decline of people shooting firearms and taking up hunting. We have to stimulate interest and participation of our youth or our numbers will continue to decline to extinction.
5/ I almost forgot the aspects of competition sask cop brought up. I was into it for a while in handgun shooting and although it just wasn't for me, the structure of that game would especially be good at a youth level.

It is amazing how fast errors can pile up while running an action event.

That would be the next logical step when you seem to have mastered your gear, join some action shooting competitions.

its come time to get a handgun. i always wanted a revolver since the louis la'mour books were read. might as well splurg. and may as well get into bullet casting. what is the standard cowboy revolver caliber 44-40?

Smart move but I would go 45 Colt...

Oh wait that is exactly what I did...

I have 2 stainless steel consecutive serial number 5.5" barreled Ruger Bisley Vaquero's in 45 Colt...

Don't forget you will also have to pick up a nice leather cowboy holster I'd recommend Bob Mernickle of Mernickle Holsters he was from Mission, BC but is now in the States.

and if you get 2 revolvers you can start thinking Cowboy Action Competitions but then you will also need a pre 1900 shotgun and a lever action pistol cartridge (45 Colt) rifle make sure it will hold 10 rounds in the mag tube.

I've shot many different shooting sports including IPSC over the years Cowboy Action was by far the most fun.

Go to Mernickle's web site and check out his rigs for pricing www.mernickleholsters.com all of my rigs and leather holsters were made for me by him.
