We need to think of was to present suppressors to the public. Any ideas? Make some vids?
"Your car has to have a functional muffler, your city has noise laws, but as soon as it comes to guns, they have to be as noisy and bothersome as possible? Not only would it be more pleasant for people living around shooting ranges, but for hunters being able to hear more clearly and for overall hearing health and safety.
Many people think that suppressors make guns "silent" which is completely untrue. Most sound suppressors bring the noise level to just below the tolerance for hearing safe. Think of nail guns at job construction sites: not exactly quiet. But what they DO, is allow people to shoot without big heavy earmuffs that take away your ability to hear noises at longer distances, for instance if you're hunting and without hearing protection you may hear a family talking while hiking through dense brush downrange, then you would know its not safe to shoot.
People take low noise levels for granted most of the time, when living next to highways people demand large sound barriers to block the sound of the cars, trucks are forbidden to use their engines to help brake them, but as our cities expand closer to popular shooting ranges, people will demand to not be bothered by shooting. Shooting sports in Canada is expanding every year and closing down safe shooting ranges with proper backstops is not a responsible option, giving people the ability to reduce their OWN noise pollution is not only inevitable, its the responsible thing to do!
Many European countries- some with even more restrictive firearms laws than Canada - such as England, Turkey, Switzerland, Germany, and Finland not only allow using sound suppressors, but ENCOURAGE it as a matter of courtesy, and as personal protective equipment, just like you would find at your job worksite!"
Some of the countries listed may need to be edited (just thinking off the top of my head) but overall you get the point. Thats as well thought out as I could write it
