Coyote with a .22lr?

I have a theory that says if you can consistently hit a 4 inch square target at 200 yards with a 22lr you can kill any varmint at 200 yards.

I swear one day soon someone will say a 338 lapua is only adequate on squirrels up to 300 yards, anything less is unethical.

Ummmm, I think if you look the .270 limit is only during deer season.

I've been wrong before though.

My .270 is sidelined waiting on a scope mount.

On the Stingers vs. the slower stuff, are the lower grain slower bullets better for expansion here than the high velocity CCI stuff? I have Mini Mags as well.

I will take along the machete as a finisher though so it should be relatively painless for the ditch dogs.

Stingers do work ok on coyotes. So do Yellow Jackets. We shot a stupid mutt in the garden on the farm with plain high velocity .22's of some kind with a 10/22. The first shot sent him spinning in circles, the next 9 put him down. My vote is for the CCI Velocitors. A hyper velocity 40 grain bullet. I think it would fair much better against these dogs.

I would suggest the Velocitors also. Much better bullet for that type of application.

Ok I will look through the cabinet, I think I have velocitors in there somewhere.

i would shoot a coyote with my 22 should i get a chance at any distance i can hit.

i can cycle a round pretty fast with that t-bolt so i'd have another one ready to fly right away.

lets just say it's a quicker death than a coyote has ever given a fawn

I killed coyotes with everything from a .22LR to a
.577 Snider ( Yup, REALLY!:)) , and woodchucks and gophers as well, but you have to remember to use that 22 within its pratical killing range .
A 200 yard shot with an '06 , yup, with a 22LR, NOPE!!

This topic has been beat to death many times. LEARN TO USE THE SEARCH OPTION.

Your a special kind of poster arent you? :p (writes name down on list for eventual board dissapearance 2 weeks this Sunday)

As I can probably use the search better than you...if I cant find something, maybe its because its not there.

Lastly if you dont wish to read a thread, because you feel the topic has been discussed to many times... then dont read the thread. Posting special commentary is just rude and makes my panties chaffe..:p

Yep. Few here one entitle their threads properly or logically so you can never find one of the hundreds of threads on the ethical shooting of field mice with a .300RUM.

Yeah if the thread title is off its hard to find stuff, you can use keywords like coyote, but that just brings up hundreds of threads and not what your looking for.

I bet you wound more then you kill. Coyotes don't stand still for very long, I would only go for head shots, if you miss you miss, if you hit, good chance it will disable him. Keep it 50 yards or less.

Yeah I am not planning on any long shots. My buddy is bringing a .270 he can do the distant shots.
