M1 Garand Price Now Hits 4 Digits?

No I'm doing it for myself,they are all put togethers anyway might as well have them all from the same company. Everytime I think of selling it I talk myself out of it. :)

That a boy. I have the IH and Win. and the IH had some parts for the Win and vice versa, so I switched them out too, if you gottem might as well. I just wouldn'd go and double the price for fake.

If Garands are becoming hard to find and prices are going up, why isn't anyone importing them from the States? They seem cheap and plentiful there.

I just think if someone honestly went to the trouble of getting as many of the same manufacturer parts as you and I have the price may be just a tad more than most. Like I said for me it is personal so to speak and I love geting it out of the locker and showing folks that are interested in a piece of Military History :)

I paid 1300 for 1.. nothing special.. I just wanted one seemed like an ok price I don't wait I buy when I see what I want its mine.. :p

I'm confused

I am looking at getting a Garand and posted a thread asking about them and their price point.
Recent viewings to the EE seemed fairly high.

So what is a fair price for a Garand, to be used as a shooter and not a safe queen.
Would be used often and kept.

:confused::confused:

I guess because :yingyang: - unlike Enfields :) - when it comes to Garands (and P-17's apparently ! :redface: ) - we Canadians are "up against" the wall of American milsurp nutz also demanding their nation's wartime arms ! :(

States wont export them... miltary rifle.. block.. miltary caliber.. block.. threaded barrel... block... Its a pain in the ass...

Shoulda bought one when they were $300. Although I did have a Model 1917 that I bought for $90 at auction and recently sold for $300. I think I shoulda waited a little longer. Now I just have to wait for the 96 Swedes to go for stupid money.

So the word is from down south the 80000 south korean Garands will now be reaching the US market for sure .. will this have any effect on the price here ? will they be able to be imported to Canada from the US? From what i hear this is the last big lend lease foreign stockpile there is ..

Do you have any authentication for this? So far it's all been rumour and speculation. If these ever do reach the US they will be dispersed to eligible US purchasers through the CMP program as the importation and sale of ex-US military weapons by the private sector is now prohibited by law. My bets are that they will be "crunched" by the Koreans in keeping with the ongoing UN small arms control program. The head of the UN is now a S. Korean and S. Korea is anxious to garner favour at the UN. This would be far more attractive to them than whatever revenue might be garnered from flogging these rifles.
