After searching for a Sako 75 Finnlight in .260 with no luck, I decided to make my own. I acquired a 6.5mm #7 Shilen SS select match barrel from Northshore Barrels and sent it off to Bill Leeper with my Sako 75 Finnlight .308 in a McMillan EDGE stock.

Bill worked his magic and re-contoured the heavy barrel down to match the finnlight contour, but an inch longer. Here is the result. After running a dozen or so loads through the chrony, the first group I fired on paper went .5". So much for re-contoured barrels not shooting.;) Subsequent groups went .8"-1.1", although I'm not done developing this load yet.
Weight is 7lbs 4oz with the optilocks and the VXIII 2.5-8x36 CDS.

You should keep that one!

.

This is the only one that I can say will never leave here. The barrel at some point, but not the rifle...:D

Good lookin' rifle Brad. Did you have Korth put on the CDS on the 2.5-8? Good shootin to BTW.

Yes, Tony at Korth did the work, very nice setup. I'm using the MOA dial for now, as I haven't fully decided on permanent loads for specific turrets, although this one is close...;)

Nice rifle, Blargon! Look forward to photos of it with dead critters...

I got a tracking number from Bill recently too... and was kinda worried when my rifle showed up in your town. Thankfully, it was just a mix up in numbers...;)
