After searching for a Sako 75 Finnlight in .260 with no luck, I decided to make my own. I acquired a 6.5mm #7 Shilen SS select match barrel from Northshore Barrels and sent it off to Bill Leeper with my Sako 75 Finnlight .308 in a McMillan EDGE stock.
Bill worked his magic and re-contoured the heavy barrel down to match the finnlight contour, but an inch longer. Here is the result. After running a dozen or so loads through the chrony, the first group I fired on paper went .5". So much for re-contoured barrels not shooting.
Subsequent groups went .8"-1.1", although I'm not done developing this load yet.
Weight is 7lbs 4oz with the optilocks and the VXIII 2.5-8x36 CDS.
