338 Lapua, 285 Hornady BTHP

Does anyone have any data for the new Hornady 338, 285 grain bullet in the Lapua preferably using Hodgdon powder?

I've got 500 Hornady 285gr/338 coming to test out with.
Use load data for the 300 gr bullets and you will have no issues and a great place to start from.

I've been using them for awhile now with great results. Started with 300gr data for Retumbo ended up using 91.8 gr. Hovering around 2800 fps

Hijack alert !

My understanding is that the TRG-42 twist rate is not optimal for stabilizing 300 gr bullets so I've been using 250's. Is this 285 grainer a solution for those seeking the heaviest possible bullet for this rifle ?

TRG-S, 26" barrel. First test loads shot at 100 yards, temp. +22, wind 0, elevation 3040 feet. Bullets, which are Moly coated, were loaded 25 thou. off the lands. Fed 215 primer, Lapua Brass, H1000 powder, 3 shot groups in half grain increments.
90.0 grains - average 2881 fps. SD 22.0 = 1.1" group
90.5 grains - average 2882 fps. SD 7.2 = 1.1" group
91.0 grains - average 2894 fps. SD 9.6 = 0.55" group
91.5 grains - average 2896 fps. SD 17.9 = 0.95" group
92.0 grains - average 2920 fps. SD 11.5 = 1.2" group

Chrono. used was a Pact Pro at 20 feet from the muzzle. No pressure signs with any of these loads in my rifle.

Obviously, I have some more work to do but this is a good start. Retumbo next.
