I cant help but notice the monetary value placed on HK rifles, and I have to ask myself, what sort of value for dollar does one who buys one of these exquisite rifles get?
I mean, the MR223 seems insanely priced for an AR, but then again I'm new to the community, and perhaps just dont know better. I mean You can get a sweet vltor upper with full rails (one piece upper), a great noveske barrel in a free floating setup, sights, mags, furnature... everything top notch for less than the very high price of an MR228.
I suppose there is much to be said about having everything produced and assembled by one manufacturer. But I just cant seem to justify the cost ( there is a new MR228 listed in the EE for 3800$). Like i said, maybe this chalks down to my inexperience within the firearms community. But I need a little help on this one guys. If I'm looking for a premium AR, and could afford the HK should I get it? I really like quality things, but I also dont mind spending half as much ans getting twice the value for dollar as an HK if its possible.
Lets just break it down to two questions.
1- In your opinion is the HK MR223 a good value for dollar purchase, and why?
2- If there was an alternative what would you setup to generate a very nice AR with greater value for dollar?
Im looking for a rifle I can use for CQB, but also have the ability to reach out and touch somebody.
