so what would it take to get a dealer here to bring in some aguila .22 ammo

im looking at the 60gr stuff mostly it work's well in the ruger 10/22 when you have a 1 in 9 twist barrel and its silent as heck

but there is some new stuff thay now have and a hole bunch of .22 rimfire

and the 60gr stuff likes to tumble when it hits the traget(if you dont have a 1 in 9 barrel it will tumble before it hit's the target) i was thinking that this ammo would be fun for small game and indoor plinking and maybe even some coyote

Hey!

The weekly "Aquilla SSS" thread!

Cool!

Try the search engine. It may work for you. This has come up here a lot.

Set your page display to more than 10 posts per, and scroll down and scan. Or use ctrl-f to 'Find" the Aquilla name.

Anyway, short answer. Until very recently, the stuff was not on the Importable ammo list and there was not a dealer to import it.
Add that to the sole North American distributor, in the USof A, being able to sell all he can get without having to deal with our or their own Gov't's paperwork, and it all adds up to "don't hold your breath", and "don't spend any money building a gun for the stuff".

I know a couple guys that have had a box or two. Quiet and pretty unremarkable otherwise. IIRC, Brutus posted some results here a few years back.

Best we can do on this side of the line really, is Rem Subsonics, and a long barreled Cooey, as far a low noise combined with some smak is concerned. CB longs in the same, is really quiet, apparently, but won't cycle a semi.

Cheers

yes but i want the 60gr stuff not rem subsonics,or CB longs the 60gr is a nasty round when it hit's flesh (or blistic gel) i was thinking it would be the right round for coyote as it cycle's the 10/22 and tumbles and makes a .500 wound track when it tumbles aftter seeing the wound track in ballistic gel 1 round in the pump house of a coyote would drop it fast heck it would drop a bad guy fast too

So move to the US.

Getting a green card is faster than waiting for this stuff to be imported.

You know all this about the ammo how? Believe everything in a gun magazine, do you? Or are they using it in one of the video games now?

The fail is stronger than usual in this one. Especially combined with the requirement to "drop a bad guy fast".f:P:

Let me rephrase that. Graduate high school. Get some form of employment, apply for a green card, then emigrate to the US, and buy all you want.

Coyotes die just fine with long rifle. If you hit them. Better with an appropriate chambering, with some actual energy, though. You can hit them farther away with a **** (fill in the blank with something with more snot than a .22 Long Rifle chambered Rimfire).

no becuse if you look at the data on this round its just like the m855 ball ammo it tumbles in the target

and moving out of canada will never happen why becuse im a real canadian and real canadians dont move out of canada

and all i have to hunt coyote is a .22lr or shotgun and the .22lr does less damage on the fur so its my choice right now im using cci mini mags but im always looking for more punch

Yeah. Stop in at the US side to get the guys there to help you out.

Nothing says "Loser" as much as doing something that will get you put in another Country's jail.

Read up on the US of A's Export regulations.

FWIW.Stating that you are going to break the law, and where you plan on breaking it, on a public forum.
May not be the smartest thing to be doing.:p

A clever person would also note that it it contrary to CGN Rules/Policy, to discuss illegal activities.
To do so, can bring on permanent Banination from the hallowed halls of CGN, and eternal Gnashing of Teeth.
i'll go grab some at cabela's michigan when i go next time its faster to fill out the paper work at the border :p

I was just as concerned, if not more, with the '...drop bad guys' post.
that's the kind of posting that the anti's can use against us, please think before posting!

i was being funny lol a 12ga dose better with home invaders :D

I think you are wrong again. Our federal agency NRCAN acronym for whatever it stands for, governs the import into Canada, of loaded ammunition.
It's not approved by NRCAN, so it's not legal to import it here AFAIK.

I could be a little off on this, but I think that's close to the truth.

Look up other posts in Legalese forum.

YOU can't get a US Export Permit, only a Registered US Exporter can get the permit from the US State Department. Cost will be around $250 for the permit, and take about 3 months, you will also have to provide the corresponding Canadian Import permit.

Also you can't purchace or possess ammo in the US without a US hunting licence.

WHEN you get caught at a US Export check, that will be the last time you ever set foot in the US. There is a big difference between EXPORTING from the US and IMPORTING into Canada. The laws are very different. Canada doesn't care, to the US, you would be a felon.

You can import up to 5000 rounds for personal use without the (second) NRCAN import permit.

ive done it a few times even had them search (random search) the truck once did not say anything about my ammo i filled out some paper work at the border and no problems

last aguila ammo i used was some of that 20gr stuff when it says handgun use only thay mean it dam stuff likes to stick in the barrel  i mite have a few rounds of it somewhere

You are breaking US Export Laws and not Canadian ones. If the Americans catch you before you reach the Border, you loose your car and might get a free vacation in a US Jail. If you are very lucky you only get banned from entering the USA for a long time.

^I thought this was the case^

I could not remember if it was thier's or our's, but illegal regardless.
