C7A2 Balance issues.

y'know, the hog always went to the biggest pita in the outfit- of couse, your hog is much lighter than my hog( m-60)
 
Just be glad your not a grenadier, carry around a C7A2 with the m203 attached then you may complain about it being front heavy
 
m60 still lighter then the old gpmg brother.

back to the problem, not sure how you can complain? are you getting 6" group with iron sights at 200m + ? if not, go to your sgt and see if you need more training. if thats not the case go to your wpns tec and see if your rifle isn't up to par. if your better then both apply for snipper trainning.

Did that for half of DP1, man that sucked.

Its not that the rifle in stock configuration is unworkable, not at all. Its just that I'm wondering if theres something simple I could adjust to make it just a little bit better.
I like tinkering and tweeking things is all. I can certainly use it as issued, thats not the trouble. I just wonder if its possible to make it better. :cheers:
I honestly perfer an MG to the A2s for balance, its not the wieght that concerns me at all.


And "My rifle" You make me laugh King66, in the militia we never get the same rifle twice :p
 
Arent you guys assigned a rack number? that would piss me off to no end if I got someones dirty rifle! PS I like the CF article on your blog.
 
gun tape batteries to the stock? like really man, your gonna put an aftermarket stock on it for a weekend A to C with blanks ex? u'd get laughed at for years I'd imagine.
 
I carried an A2 with an M203 for several months. It'll definitely change your perspective on the rifle being "poorly balanced".

Either that, or do some more pushups. I don't mean that as a slight. Upper body strength and muscular endurance are important.
 
Stock Mag Pouch? Drop Zone sells em, not sure if its force issue. a loaded 30 round GI, adds 1 pound to the read. It might be the best quick n easy solution.

I haven't gone through the full thread here, but a simple, non perm and likley non-charge inducing solution would be a butt stock magazine pouch with some sort of counter-wight. hockey taped square of scrap metal perhaps?

Once again, not an issue with weight, the balance just annoys me, I've carried it with the grenade launcher, not as long as you have, (nor; I suspect, under such demanding circumstances.) But I'm fully aware of the increased balance problems. I just really prefer my firearms to be balanced if possible and I'm looking for a solution. (Keep in mind I usually use trap shotguns which are designed for perfect balance and quick pointing. Maybe I'm just too spoiled?)

And no, the idea comes up every year, but it never ends up being implemented and we always just end up drawing in whatever order we happen to line up in. I doubt rifles with rack numbers over 80 ever get fired...
 
If the C7A2 feels really front heavy while shooting you are not pulling it into your shoulder tight enough and probably have probably adopted a poor shooting position, but what do I know.

It is a you problem not a rifle problem.
 
Ok... in all seriousness:

The C7A2 is definitely not as balanced as the C7A1, but it really shouldn't make that much of a difference in your shooting.

I wouldn't put a non-issue stock onto a work gun unless you were nearing the end of work-up or you are on operations. Put your money towards an Eotech so you can take cool guy pics. ;)
 
As I write this, I'm sitting in my room in Kabul, just near Jalalabad road. G:

On my C7 I have installed:

- Magpul CTR FDE on the mill spec buffer tube
- KAC quadrail with Tango Down rail covers (tan)
- LaRue FUG

And no RSM came to me. Probably because I'm there as a police officer. But no problem at all, even when I go to Camp Souter.

So it's a good kit, but a bit heavy for my taste. I would rather have a C8 because the C7 takes a lot of place in the Gwagen.

i can just picture your RSM if you told him this.

"not balanced, hmm... you know what would help with balance - if you were stronger, and you know what makes you stronger - pushups! do some F*ing pushups!"

and for overseas, some get away with working all day in underwear, and some have to shave every day, it all depends on who and where.
