X2, except for doubles with my semi-auto. I close my action at the same time as the guy/girl before me, and load my second shell then. Keeps the rythm going, rather than slowing too much when it comes my turn.

MOst here, in competion or not, close the gun one shooter ahead just to keep a steady rythem.

+1^...same with the club I shoot at. Most of the members, including myself, practice this method...I can't remember anyone ever bringing this up as a saftey issue, or a violation of club rules.

Also keeps the danged voice release from tossing another bird when you wait until your partner is finished , then chamber the first round!

personally i prefer all actions to be open until it is your time to fire, both clubs i shoot at follow this rule and the flow is not really hampered..whats a bit of time when safety is concerned?
