The more I think about it the more this elk hunt pisses me off. Issueing 70 tags for a herd of 300-400 bodies. A total cash grab by charging for applications. Using hunters to manage problem animals on a small area instead of managing elk for the long term. Why is the MNR not moving problem animals to areas that don't have elk? I'm all for elk hunting in Ontario, but someday when they are established and it's for the right reasons.

It will be interesting to see how many people fork over the $17 too enter the draw for 70 or so tags. I wonder if the MNR will publish the # of applicants? At least you don't have to pay unless you get drawn for a tag. Not like moose hunting, where you pay whether you get a tag or not.

I also read that in the elk herd areas, that the elk are damaging farmer's cash crops, so the MNR is issuing nuisiance tags to these people...
no nuisance tags are given out.....
must get drawn....will be hard ... find them... Harder ...Get permission... HARDDDDDDDDDDD
