I recently discovered that some of the .25RF I picked up were actually .30LRF.
The .30LRF was primarily a handgun round with a few single shot rifles chambered in it.There was a "short" version as well!
The bit of info I could find suggest that .30LRF are extremely hard to come bye and are usually reserved for display purposes.
Here are pics of the three cartridges FYI for comparison:

Those are neat pictures for comparison. I had never heard of 30 LRF. Neat to see them side by side like that. Are we going to see a pic of the rifle?
Here are a couple pics of my Dom / CIL 32 RF collection. Just need a gun to shoot them now, though these boxes are a bit nice to shoot.

Wow, that is nice! What are the guns?? They are all real nice pieces.

Lol, I know, this stuff is not cheap. But, it sure looks nice in the ammo collection. And, this stuff possibly came from the same spot as yours. I just recently started picking these up and they all came from the same place. I know he had more before. I will keep my eyes open for real nice Remington and Navy Arms as well. I like them in really nice condition. I am getting pickier in my old age I guess...lol. What does a box of Navy Arms go for?
I have been looking and waiting for the "right" rimfire shooter, and have seen some really nice ones on here lately, but the right one has not caught my eye yet I guess. The right one will show up. Seems to be a lot coming up these days.

Holy RF lads
the only RF I have besides .22's is a .25 Stevens Marksman...I thought I was getting .25 Stevens short when I got the 30LRF...
Anyone have any .25 Stevens kickin around let me know...I'd swap :p

Yeah it came off the same guy as yours, hes a great guy to deal with and keeps finding pristine .32RF around the country.

The Navy arms was 90$ for the shorts and 110 for the longs.

The 3 guns are as follows:

Top - Harrington & Richardson Large Frame 6 shot Bulldog chambered for .32RF long.

Middle - Forehand & Wadsworth 6 shot No. 32 chambered for .32RF long.

Bottom - Forehand & Wadsworth 5 shot No. 38 Chambered for .38RF short.

I have another top one comming in like new condition as well, I'll post pics of her when she gets here.

Great little guns when they work properly, they are my favorite antiques to own, some of the only non prohibited snubbies you can get here.

If I come across any .25 Stevens Ill be sure to let you know.

Nice. Which one is your favorite and why?

I really like the grips on that F&W .38RF short on the bottom, but that engraved one is a real beauty.

My Favorite one is the Engraved F&W .32, it works like it was made yesterday. Never had an antique revolver so tight and mechanically perfect as this one. Part of the reason why I don't shoot her very much is I wanna keep it that way.
The other reason is she is probably worth $1000.00 or more as the factory engraved ones are quite rare.

Second fave is the one with bone grips in .38RF, has more thump to it, works well mechanically, but not as nice as the .32.

I almost sold the .38rf a few weeks ago, glad I decided not to.

If you can find yourself a Forehand and Wadsworth .32RF in shooting condition I'd grab her, they are great little guns, thick chamber walls, good quality in general.

I just may do that. I have to find a nice little 32 for all the ammo I have. Not much good to have the ammo sitting around without something to shoot it!

That engraved F&W is indeed beautiful, but I do have a thing for those bone grips. Any idea on the numbers of engraved ones made? Guess that begs the question on how many regular ones were also made.

Matt

To give you a number on how many of them were produced would be a lie, I really am not sure.

I havent seen any engraved F&W .32RF's since mine... I'm sure theres a few nice specimens floating around but they are deffinately quite rare.

I have seen one in .32 S&W a few months back for sale in the U.S. similar shape as mine for around $1200.00 U.S.......

The plain nickel is much more common but still not overly easy to find these days. If you see one, grab it.
